Fantastic idea! Thanks! My basil plant is reaching bush-like proportions, nearly dwarfing the peppers.

Anyone need basil?

use it or freeze it before it goes to seed. If you freeze it just puree with EVO, portion and freeze, you can add the other stuff when u pull it out.

When I make pesto, I also add some freshly grated Parmesean. I have so much basil growing in my herb garden this year, I've made quite a bit of pesto. The ice cube idea is fantastic. I normally make it and seal it in foodsaver bags and put in the freezer. I also dry some of it and store in glass containers.

I think pesto is one of those things that begs to be experimented with, so next time I make it I'm going to use toasted hazelnuts with a dash of hazelnut oil and then I'm going to finely dice some sun dried tomato and red pepper flakes and mix them in after it comes out of the blender.
