ocean maya or allegro playacar

Hi all just wondering about these 2 resorts planning to go in Apr. but unsure which one to go to, pricing is about the same. We like to walk alot and it says that the Ocean Maya is about 6kms into town so thats not to bad. I guess for us it comes down to service and food selection. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks in advance

The Ocean Maya is adults only so that is a big plus (for me). But this resort is not close to town, it's probably about 4 miles away, I wouldn't say walking is an option. The hotel has been renovated, the rooms are updated and it's a pretty nice resort for the money, although not comparable to any other adults only property. It's not luxurious but still, a good value for what you'll pay I think.

The Allegro is in Playacar, much closer. However, the Allegro is considered a budget resort.

So you may want to base your decision on location - if you want to be close to Playa then that would be the Allegro. But if that's not a big issue, I'd have to go with Ocean Maya because there's more quality there.
