The price is awesome.. I'm going to try to keep convincing him.

The flight came out more than we expected so price is even more important to me. Especially since he's putting me on a budget on this. MEN!!! (NO OFFENSE) haha

Aventura Mexicana might be another good choice for us... And considering Luna Blue as well.

I just want to snap my fingers and voila .. have a pocket full of $$. in my dreams.

When I was planning ours I came down to the same three you are considering. I chose Luna Blue for the free access to I think 4-5 beach clubs, the location North, and the Luna Blue bar. I also like the kitchenettes as we will be making a few trip up the road to Mega for supplies (aka beer).

Ok, so I don't feel so bad about my decisions. The hubby is used to an All Inclusive resort... Like your wife... I'm trying to convince him away from that. Especially since it's going to be out of our budget this year.

I love Playa del Carmen... I'm sure which ever place we finally decide on we'll be happy.

Hotel Copa

I just got back from Cozumel and Playa and we stayed a few nights at Hotel Copa. It's right on 5th Ave. between Calle 10 & 12. But it's behind a wall and with a jungle garden we could barely hear the noise from our door and not at all from inside. We paid $52/nt plus tax. Booked on Orbitz.

Rooms are large, a separate bedroom with a door, a living room, a kitchen area with gas stove and full size fridge. Wifi is spotty in the rooms but good in the courtyard. I don't know about beach passes as we were there to dive. No room safe boxes but they took care of our bags w valuables while we out the whole day diving cenotes. Our room was clean, no bugs, AC worked great. No pool. Maid service was good, the few valuables left in the room were undisturbed, the peso coins left on a table were untouched.

I can post a few pics tonight if anyone is interested.

emily, the room we stay in at club yebo has a kitchenette as well...

ironically, the fact that it isnt modern is what we love so much about it...

it doesnt matter to us about the breakfast issue since we love to go all over and try new places so i wouldnt eat there every day any way...

good luck!!

Ok guys,, after all this talk...

I found this living social deal for Occidental Grand Xcaret for 4 nights. I bought it!!!
I feel like a trator now.. cause I'm totally going all inclusive. But, I'm still planning on stay an extra night in Playa del Carmen. Whether my hubby likes it or not.. We're going to do Club Yebo. It's just for one night... and I ended paying more than I wanted to anyways.

AHHH!!! I'm so excited.

The reviews for Occidental Grand Xcaret are ok... but It has what the boy wants.. Plenty of pools.. Not a real beach... buttt they do have a man made beach and.. as long as it's water.. he'll like it.

haha,, no I meant the resort isn't a beach front resort like many others. They've made a man-made beach. WE LOVE THE BEACH!!

This is what I use to monitor airfare prices. It just emails me when the city-to-city route drops.

Maybe Yapta? Yapta: Track flight prices and check for airline refunds

I just started messing with it recently but I am sure if Shammy uses it, it is a great resource. I am using it to monitor my purchase flights to alert me if the price drops lower than the purchase price.

One tip I am not sure is accurate but look for prices on Tuesday mornings (maybe Shammy can verify).
