Time for this again!

If airlines sold paint

Yup- no ryhme or reason, don't even bother trying to predict.

The only thing even remotely close to a rule I have found to be fairly true, at least where I am from- is prices tend to be decent two months before departure. We usually end up booking around that timeframe and usually it serves us well.

Another gem besides the 'Tuesdays are cheapest' I have heard is to 'clear your cookies' when using search engines because if you keep looking at the same dates it 'knows' to 'up your price'....yeah right . Magic!

I don't know if that's an issue.. should I be concerned about doing that.

I HAVE booked 2 different one-way tickets, each with a different airline. My total cost for round trip was less than $300. I had no issues at all. Although, I did book from each airline's website, not by a 3rd party as a packaged deal.

"Hacker Fares" are just paring two one way flights. Looked into them via search engines as well as directly thourgh the carriers sites but never got a better price.

I may want to do this for a non-stop flight going back home.. nothing worse than after a great vacation.. and waiting in an airport for hours during a connection. But, that's if I get a good deal.

Very rarely is the cost of one way flights added together priced less than a round trip fare. Sometimes, but rarely.

Not a hotel question... but has anyone recently been to "The Jungle Place".

I did a search and popped up a thread from 2008. Does anyone know of any thread on here of people that have gone more recent? Not that I'm sure much has changed since 2008.. just checking.

I went in 2009. As far as I know, it's still up and running. You must book well in advanced. They only do small groups (6-8 people) and it's a very hands on experience. I absolutely loved it, a once in a lifetime experience. A must do if this kind of stuff interest you!

Playa Palms webcam

Full disclosure so as not to violate forum rules: owner here). Playa Palms has cooktops in about 1/3 of the rooms and all the rooms have a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot. You are a few blocks to Mega where you buy your provisions for the week. Many of us eat breakfast and lunch on our balconies, overlooking the ocean. We eat eggs, toast, and bacon every morning! You can also order breakfast next door at Indigos if you prefer. I prefer the view from my balcony. Good luck in your search.

For the previous Club Yebo guests..

I have a question on what exactly does it mean that We are able to utilize the facilities at Playa Palms hotel on the beach. I read in someone's review that they were able to use their pool? Is this true?

There was a time when you had to check-in/out at Playa Palms for Yebo, and yes, you could use their facilities. That has now changed. From my understanding, Yebo now has their own office on the premises. They also furnish you with backpack style beach chairs to use. At 1 time, there was another beach club that Yebo guest could use for free......not sure if that's still the case.

We have stayed at Club Yebo for the last 3 years . You used to be able to use their lounge chairs only. That has changed.... you now get a Tommy Bahama beach chair that is located in your room. Club Yebo is not a "sister" hotel to Playa Palms... but they do use the same managment company. So realistically use cannot use Playa Palms at all. FYI the pool at Playa Palms is wicked small and in the middle of the walkways.
We are moving back a few blocks this time... need a change
