Hotels in Playa del Carmen

Hi guys,

I'm sure you guys get these threads all the time. But, I need all your expertise help.

My husband and I came to Playa del Carmen for our Honeymoon and we're coming up to our 4 year anniversary in September. We're looking for a hotel close to 5th avenue and really close to the beach. We're water people.. we love the beach. A pool at the hotel would be really great too. Free breakfast in the morning would be nice.. but not necessary.

Of course I have all these wants on a lower budget... of coursssee. We want to stay around $100/night - may pay more.

What do you guys think about Illusions Boutique, Aventura, Aqualuna, Luna Blue?

Any help would be great!!! thanks!!

Of those hotels, Illusion is closest to the water, by quite a distance.

We have stayed at Aventura Mexicana a couple of times now and it sounds like it has most of what you want. Its about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach though.

We have stayed at Aventura Mexicana several times and have loved it. The All inclusive deal is a great deal! So good of a deal you don't feel bad going out for a meal or two a day. The food there is fabulous tho. Two pools. Nice rooms, nothing to complain about. A small fridge. The rooms aren't fabulous, but how often are you in the room?

Check out Playa Maya......on the beach, free HOT breakfast, and a small "dip" pool (which is perfect for "chilling")
Be sure to look at the discounts for 5 days or more.......should hopefully fit your budget.
I highly recommend Playa Maya.......top notch!!!!

We have stayed 3 times at Club Yebo. It is located on 1st and a short two minute walk to the beach. It has a pool , maid service, coffee maker , small fridge ect. but no breakfast. We have never had a problem staying there.

Playa Maya Sounds Great!! I'm going to look into it more.
I looked into Aventura also.. another great choice. When you say the beach is a 5 to 10 min walk.. Is there a beach club there?
And which beach clubs do you guys recommend?

A Place like Playa Maya would be perfect... but I looked at their calendar. doesn't look like anything is available for September.

Any other suggestions would be helpful.

I'm going to look into Club Yebo also.

I'm going to check out Playa palms!

We're trying to book a package deal with flight included to save $$. I noticed Playa Maya wasn't available through 3rd party vacation sites.

What are everyone's thoughts on Fusion Beach Hotel, Riviera del Sol, or THE BRIC... If anyone's been?

Probably gonna get blasted........but I would not suggest Fusion. It's a cool spot to hang 1 evening & have a couple $9 drinks, but that's about it. Also, they do not have safes in the room, which is a huge factor in my book.
Can't comment on the other 2, but in my opinion, they would be much better than Fusion.
