Hi all...returning tomorrow to playa!!...we usually rent a car..but bringing our 2 yr old for his first trip and thought it may be easier to taxi in and out..can someone tell me the going rates for taxi to/from Cancun airport? and are the fares fixed price or negotiable?....my wife hates it, but i enjoy haggling

You will be able to haggle with the shuttle drivers. In all of my trips, I've never taken the ADO from the airport to Playa. I always intend to, but I'm usually happy with the final price they offer.
They always use the same line......."Bus JUST left, so you'll have to wait another hour." I just smile and say "that's ok" and continue to walk. They always follow me and the game begins ![]() We've never paid more than $40 US + a tip

My husband usually let's me take the lead in the game (he's not very good at it)
The guy even commented last time that I must be the boss ![]() Sometimes they have radioed for a car & other times it has been a shared van (with only 1 other couple) |
