I have the Iphone4s and I've heard of cases like these for water protection and underwater pics:

I think you would really enjoy a trip to Isla Mujures.....it is very beautiful with great beaches. Our first trip there was back in 2005 with our grown kids and we were very sorry that we didn't bring our backpacks and spend at least one night. Since then we have been back to Isla several times. We have never once booked a hotel but rather shown up and walked around and found one which just adds to our adventures. One year we spent almost two weeks there. It's more laid back than Playa and very relaxing.

You can take the ADO bus to Cancun Bus terminal then catch a taxi to Puerto Juarez/Punta Sam's Ultra Mar ferry. |

It is a little work and time consuming to get to Isla Mujeres from Playa. If you have never been to Akumal and were only going to do one I'd probably opt for Akumal as it is easier to get to. Plus snorkeling with the turtles is way cool! Isla is nice too though.

I was going to go the cheaper route by taking the bus to Akumal and Tulum but I found a great tour from Edvenutres. Just booked a Ruins, cenote snorkeling, then we head out to Akumal for the turtles and lagoons.
A little pricy but it's worth it. ::sigh:: Can this week hurry up.. ![]()

Night Before
I just finished packing. Let me just say, I'm not one of those people who can just bring a carry on. I'm hoping my suitcase doesn't weight more than 50 pounds Lol! I think my hubby yelled at me twice for over packing.. I can't help myself.
![]() We just sent the doggy with my cousin. I'm going to miss my little white powder puff maltese. I've put on some relaxing music for bed, took some cold and flu medicine cause I feel like poop still. I'm hoping by the morning this sore throat will magically disappear!! Playa, I hope you're nice and hot for me and the cocktails.. chilled and strong! Wooohooo!! See you later. ![]() ![]()

After 9 trips, I was finally able to do carry-on only!! Thank goodness we had a washer & dryer in our condo ![]() You may want to pack a foldable duffle bag or huge beach bag. I THINK it's cheaper to pay for extra luggage vs. over-weight fee. |

Made it safe! We're checked in at the hotel. Had some lunch at Carboncitos... And now the hubby is knocked out after a swim in the pool at the hotel.
He worked late last night and got no rest. But, it's all worth it now. I'll make sure to write up full trip report but til then I'll check in from time to time. If anyone has instagram or twitter, you can follow my uploaded instagram pics from there: EmilyDiaz83 Go ahead and follow me Here's a pic of my hubby knocked out! http://instagr.am/p/PDMcoOpDSF/ |
