For some reason I can't get my body to sleep past 7am. Not that I'm complaining... I'm loving the view of the pool outside my door. Now, I'm tryin to get the boy awake for breakfast!
I think we'll head to AMARANTO bistro and watch the fishing boats for a bit.

Here's a pic of me in the pool last night. Photo by emilydiaz83 • Instagram

We check out today from Club Yebo I'm so so sad! I really wish I never booked the all inclusive resort. I love the convenience of being IN town. The beach here is wonderful. Anywho, it'll be a quiet few days for me. No more free wifi either lol booooooo!

Thanks to everyone who helped me choose club yebo. It was awesome and I can't wait to come back!

Trip Report begins...

Here we go.. the official Trip report after everyone's help. I had such an amazing vacation with my hubby. It flew by too quickly .. so much we wanted to do and never got to it.

Saturday September 1, 2012 - DAY ONE - BOSTON, MA - LOGAN AIRPORT

We arrived at Logan at around 7am and it was packed!!! I guess we weren't the only ones going on vacation. Well, it was labor day weekend. Luckily the line moved pretty quickly. I was so anxious to get through customs and get on the plane.

The hubby and I in line... He worked an overnight shift and hadn't really slept much. He was excited on the inside. lol

Our plane.. we're almost ready to board... You can imagine the anxiety and excitement. Return back to Mexico has been our dream since our Honeymoon.

There we go.. Happy Hubby...

YAYYY!! We boarded... I take a lot of pics... so there's going to be more pics than talking.

Almost there...

When we finally arrived to Cancun Airport, we rushed to the ADO bus and luckily there was one about to leave. They waited for us which was really nice. Especially since they since us running and sweating like crazy animals.

ADO bus was a smooth ride to Playa. I kept telling my husband.. why doesn't everyone use the ADO bus. This is insanely easy!!! I feel so foolish being so afraid of it before. Now.. I want to tell everyone I know that heads to playa.. USE THE ADO BUS! Saves you so much $$!!!

They were playing a movie on the bus which helped the ride go by quicker.

Getting so close to Playa.. I can smell it!!!!!!

WE ARRIVED INTO TOWN!!! WOOOHOOO!!!!

We got off the bus and immediately grabbed a taxi. We weren't really sure if we could walk from the station with our luggage. The hubby was beyond exhausted and just wanted to get to the hotel quick.
The taxi charged us 50 pesos to Club Yebo.. I know now that I should've just paid him 30 pesos.. it really was such a quick ride. Anyways, I wasn't going to bargain right now and wanted to get to the hotel.

The hotel's sign is really hard to find if you're not looking carefully. It's located in the bushes on the left of Phantom Divers and you enter through the little alley way. This took us a few minutes to figure out.

Check in was quick and we were taken to our room. You have to understand my excitement when I received the music room. I meant to request this room but totally forgot. My husband is a Live Sound Engineer for a Live Sound/Concert Production Company here in Boston. So you can say.. Music is his life.. and ours. I've worked for the Boston Symphony Orchestra for the past 10 years.. and right before my trip received a very much needed promotion. So this trip was an Anniversary trip but a celebration of my promotion as well.

He was so happy to see the name of the Room and I've got to say it's probably my favorite location! Right in front of the pool. I was worried it might be an issue when other people use the pool but we had no problems and everyone who stayed there were very respectful.

The rooms were very comfortable and came with burners, microwave, toaster, and fridge.

By this time.. the hubby and I were starving! We knew where we wanted to go. Carboncitos here we come.
Now, we were a little uncertain of the area we were in. After a day in town we realized how close we were to everything. But, we weren't sure at first which direction everything was so we caught a taxi and he took us to Carboncitos. Riding in the taxi and looking where we were going we realized then where everything was. That was our last taxi in town until we left to the resort later in the week.

I have to say.. Club Yebo is in a great location. I was happy with our decision to stay there!

The hubby and I gasped when we saw the beach in the distance there.

It's such a beautiful sight to see!

Mmmmmm... The hubby had a Pina Colada (virgin- he doesn't drink). I drink for him. I had the rum punch. Refreshing and Sweet.

I had to have some guacamole to start.. I mean.. it's necessary.

Oops.. I kinda started eating before I could take a pic. LOL I ordered the tacos al pastor. The hubby ordered a churrasco burrito I believe. I can't remember exactly.. and it was gone pretty quickly.

Like Shivors.. we also had the guitar players serenade us. I had them sing one of my dad's favorite songs "Mi Viejo San Juan". Kinda funny they're singing a song about Puerto Rico and we're in Mexico.. But it's a beautiful song and I've heard it sung many times around Playa.

Check out the video here:

(I'm not sure if that link worked)

After lunch we headed straight to the water. We needed to feel the sand on our feet. ASAP!

We walked to the hotel from the beach and the hubby was getting sleepy. Poor guy hadn't slept much.. So we changed into our bathing suits.. swam a little in the pool and just layed out on the pool chairs.

Someone kinda passed out. We really wanted to meet up with Shivors that night for the show at Wah Wah's. I didn't have the heart to wake the hubby up though.

He woke up around 8:30 and we decided to get ready and get some food. We were in the mood for some Italian.. I had read great reviews on Casa Mediterranea
off of 5th ave.

Walking to 5th from Club Yebo..

Of course the hubby and I not knowing the area too well.. we were searching for the restaurant. It's location between 6th and 8th street. Look for the Sabai Spa sign and walk through the little pathway.. the restaurant is on your right.

The restaurant was very cute and the ambiance really romantic. Great for our first dinner together in town.

The hubby ordered the spaghetti bolognese and I had the garlic butter spinach ravioli. DELICIOUS! We licked our plates.. we were also very hungry.

You could taste the freshness in the basil and the Parmesan cheese. Mmmmm

I ended it with a cappuccino.. my eyes were falling.. I didn't want the boy to have to drag me back to the room.

end of day one

DAY TWO - Waking up in Playa..

What an awesome feeling waking up in a beautiful place. I immediately jumped out of bed at 6am (I did this a lot on vacation) and just stared outside at the pool. The hubby would scream at me because I was letting the sun light come in but I'd just roll my eyes and say get over it.. I'M IN MEXICO!!!!!!!!

I'm sure he was irritated with me every morning. I woke up at the crack of dawn just thinking about what we were going to do that day.. what we were going to eat... (I think about eating a lot... I'm a chubster, I can't lie! LOL)

I forgot to mention before. We stopped at a market the first day and bought a few breakfast foods for the morning. I knew the boy wasn't going to wake up early like me.. so I needed something to keep from gnawing at my finger nails. LOL

I made myself a sandwich and some cereal and sat out by the pool and just enjoyed some quiet time. There was a little noise from Phantom divers next door but nothing to complain about. It didn't bother me one bit. I'm on vacation.. who cares!

Finally the hubby got up and he was happy too! Finally fully rested from his long work week.

He ate some cereal and got ready to head out and walk around.. Took a stroll up to 5th ave and look at all the stores. They were just opening up.. so there weren't toooo many people calling out to us. but still, these guys are up early and ready!

Never got to eat there but we wanted to check it out.. yes, only because it was called Boston Grille. haha

We stopped at 100% Natural Juice joint. We were thirsty and all ready getting hot. The heat is non-stop I tell ya..

I needed Caffeine asap.. and the boy enjoyed some type of fruit smoothie. Forgot the name.

This restaurant is really cute and I love the outdoor patio. Be careful for the birds.. we saw a few come down and grab scraps really close to us. They're not afraid of people I guess.

One thing we noticed at all the restaurants we went to. I'm not sure if this is an international thing or a Mexico thing.. well is it normal practice to ask for the check. I'm so used to the states where the waiter will just automatically put it down on the table. But we noticed they NEVER put it down unless we asked for it. We really liked that and didn't feel rushed at all.

After a nice morning drink we walked down 5th towards Wah Wah. We needed the beach.. and we were desperate for a dip in the water. As soon we stepped on to Wah Wah we were caught by the parasailing guys. Now, I've always wanted to do parasailing but the boy is afraid of heights. I've been pushing him for years.. something came over him.. or he went crazy from the Mexican sun.. he finally agreed. We haggled the guy for a good price. We got him down to $100 for 15 min. Originally it was like $150 for 10 min. Then we tried to walk away.. he went down again.. so.. we finally agreed.

At the same time, the palapa guys at Wah Wah were trying to get us to rent out their chairs. We promised him we'd come back after parasailing.

This was one of favorites moments of the trip. I was terrified as soon as I got on the boat and almost didn't want to do it. So glad I went through with it. Amazing!! The view of Playa del Carmen beach, the hotels, the water.. gorgeous!!

After the parasailing we headed straight to Wah Wah. We promised "Mosquito" and we weren't going to let him down.

The hubby ordered a virgin Bahama Mama and I went straight for the Long island iced teas..don't judge. lol

We ordered some guacamole and rested most of the day. I was little annoyed when I first asked "Mosquito" for the wifi password. He kept telling me that he didn't have the password. I didn't understand why but I didn't really push him. He kept saying you can use the wifi from an open "Riviera Maya" signal. It was really annoying since the signal was so bad and it kept coming in and out. I needed to return some emails on the trip and confirm with excursion for Wednesday.

The boy knocked out for a bit. I listened to some beach musicians and sun tanned most of the time. We were there for a few hours. I drank, ordered from yummy fish tacos. These were so filling!
Finally, I got the courage to bug "Mosquito" one more time about the wifi password. He made a comment and said, you forgot it already? I'm like, uh, I never got it??

He came over with the password and I was finally logged in. A few hours too late. But whatever. Sue mentioned I should've went to the bar to get the password. I know better now. I feel like he only gave it to me because I finally ordered an entree maybe? I'm not sure.. but I ordered plenty of drinks and guacamole.. I thought that would be enough.

The hubby woke up and ordered some Nachos.. it was almost 6pm and they were already started to close up. We finished eating and headed back to Club yebo.

We weren't totally done with the water and wanted to jump in the pool to end our beach day.

I really did love this little pool. It was the perfect depth and great to relax in.

.. after the pool.. we both knocked out! We didn't wake up til midnight and decided to just stay in the rest of the night. It was fine with me.. I needed to sleep more.

END OF DAY TWO.
