new family in playa del carmen

hi guys, very happy to be part of this community!!

We are a family with 2 kids from Switzerland. We plan to stay for a while. We felt in love with Mexico 10 years ago and even if PDC has changed a lot we still feel good "ondas" in here.

See you soon!

Welcome! Any info you are looking for you will find here. There are many very knowledgeable members. Some locals, many expats, some permanent residents, some, long term renters, some just yearly "tourists". All friendly and helpful! Just ask for infor or help! Welcome once again!

Cool! We have been here with our 2 kids for almost 8 years! Ours go to school at Papalote? How old are yours?

Welcome! We are only vacationers at the moment, but we have bought our home and hope to be true part-timers very soon. You are a bit ahead of us - good for you!

Our are 9 and almost 11. Our eldest, Catherine, started at Papalote, then spent three years at Ak Luum and will go back to Papalote in the fall. Cole, the younger, has been at Papalote for 6 years. It has been great raising them here!

Ak Luum only goes up to 6th grade and we felt it would be an easier transition for Cat to make the change from one primary grade into another rather than from primary into secondary. Ak Luum is a TRUE Waldorf School and Papalote is Waldorf inspired. She was itching to go back to a bigger school...made a pretty good case for herself...so we decided to make the change this year. We LOVED our experience at Ak Luum and will continue to support their efforts with the annual BuyPlaya 5K Run etc...
