Yes, lots of lava tubes and flows around Bend and Sisters. Deschutes Brewery, 10 Barrel Brewery... I think they are still way south of there though. Not even to Crater Lake yet.

After catching two more fish Sunday AM, we left Lone Pine. Next stop Virginia Lakes, actually Trumbull Lake Campground (cost $17 per night, plus $9 reservation fee).

We headed out for a nice leisurely gas eating jaunt of about 150 miles. Stopped in Bishop for Ice, Toothbrush and something else (see previous post). Made it to Virginia Lakes by 2:30PM.

Me too ...we stayed at Sherwin Creek campground
For most of the summer. Sometimes we stayed at Twin Lakes...but that was after we got the flat-bottom boat.

Headed out early Monday morning (I think it was Monday), on the road at 8:45AM heading for the North East Corner of Lassen National Park to a place called Butte Lake.

On the road, somewhere north of Bridgeport

Dinner at Butte Lake (you should recognize the fish from an earlier picture)

Tuesday AM woke up and did a short hike up the Cinder Cone trail. Straight up. For every 1 foot step you took, you went back 6 inches.

Evidence I made it to the top

Bonny going down the hill - for every one foot forward, your foot slipped another 2 feet forward
