We stayed at Panther Flat campground in the cool forest...took a walk down to the Smith River to see if we could spot steelhead or salmon. Saw a 4incher jump a foot in the air .
MikeW will post picks when we get better internet..

This morning we packed up, drove through (between) the coast redwoods on the way to the California coast...The next quest was funding a laundromat and restock some supplies like water and ice. Here I sit in Crescent City watching our towels spin ...

Made a New England inspired chowda (thanks John and Cheryl) with Nicole's potatoes (no comments) Uno's Diamond Lake trout and salmon (added a smokiness) and a leftover onion or two from that last week . I made whole wheat rolls to dip with and I think we are good to go. MikeW got the last leftover Bonnyrita from Saturday night...

I sure wish I could be riding along with you guys..Good company and a break from the heat. Mind you, I would just want to tag along, not do any of that camping "work" or hiking up some steep hill. I'm a "relax on vacation" kinda girl..exceptions for Italy, Greece, and other parts of Europe. Oh...And although I like to fish..I ain't eating it..so you would have to have some real meat on hand..and I don't mean venison. lol

Looking forward to more of your adventures.

Humboldt redwoods state park. Hidden springs campground. Beautiful. Huge campground on a hillside. Lots of privacy, lots of sites. About 70% tent 30% small rv sites.

Off to napa tomorrow and more wine tasting the next day, whatever day that is.
