Directory map question.

Am i allowed to put a pin on the map to locate my condo unit?
I tried the- add a place tab- to the right of the map and it let me fill out the form place a pin and a photo, but would not accept it.
I tried 5 or 6 times . Can someone tell me the trick to this?
