too funny, Michael took a picture of the bottle recycle bin also and sent it to Ruben reminding him of what he missed out on!

Nicole told me during lunch today that she felt like she was sweating out alcohol during her workout the other morning!

I saw a whale today!!!

For the past few days, I have been taking a long walk on the beach and in the afternoon, I will sit on a bench at the end of this property and have a few (heh heh)beers. Today, it was so windy, that I skipped my walk. Sand was blowing all over the place, so I spent all day inside. I was not about to miss 'Happy Hour," so I sat on my bench and just stared out at the ocean. I had finished beer #3, and I was about to leave when I thought I had seen a water spout. The family who is staying at the vacation home next door came running out. The dad had a fancy captain's telescope. He confirmed that I had seen a whale.

It was so exciting!!! The family who is two cottages down from the one I am staying in, also came flying out of their place. They heard the commotion, so they had to come outside to see the whale.

It was great! Last time, when Dave and I stayed at the RV place next door, we saw a whale. The one that I saw today hung out near the shore, so I got to see it's massive body come out of the water just about every time it blew water out of its spout. It stayed in the area for an hour, but then it started slowly moving out to sea. Incredible.

Food pics.

Yesterday, I ate at the Yachats Underground Pub and Grub. I wanted to eat some seafood, but the bartender took my order, she told me that the cook had left for a few hours and there are a few things she could prepare, so I settled for a huge bowl of "chowdah" and a glass of Firestone pilsner.

Here is one of the bottles that escaped the recyle bin.

That's a good looking bowl of chowder!

Very cool you got to see a whale. Even west coasters don't get that opportunity very often, if ever!

The chowder was delicious!! I liked the bar where I ate the chowder. It was a locals' place. Everyone is very friendly.

This morning, I talked to a man that was watching the whale with binoculars and he said that there was a pod of them further out and that they stuck around for awhile.

I do too! It's like getting a present you have been wanting. I go so excited and it was cool to see the rest of the folks who saw the whale, with huge smiles.

We just returned from British Columbia. In fact we met Dana and Colleen the week before the meet. At the time of the peep meet we were at Port Hardy, BC fishing. And, most incredible we saw whales! One day a pod of them were fairly close to us feeding. Cathy stopped the boat, lines were pulled in and we watched an incredible sight! The show lasted about 30 minutes until some ahole came full bore with his boat to get a close look. Before the idiots arrived hubby got some great pics! It was so exciting! Our hosts have been fishing in this area for over 20 years and have never seen this and we see it on our first trip!
