Willamette Valley and the Oregon coast or Bust!!

Tomorrow afternoon, I begin my trip to Eugene, Oregon for the Willamette Valley Peep Meet!!! I know the majority of the folks who will be there, so I am very excited to see with them.

Originally, I had planned to fly to Portland, spend the night at Roni and Kathy's house and on Thursday head to Eugene. Last week, I found out that I had to attend a meeting at school and the only day that it could be held was on Aug. 1st around the same time that my plane was supposed to leave.

There are three of us who are/were supposed to leave tomorrow to go on vacation.

I looked into flights to Portland and did not find any that would work, so I decided to drive. I have been wanting to take a road trip, so I don't mind. Dave is not going to this Peep Meet because he is working at his family's farm. I got my vehicle serviced and new tires. I've had my Hyndai Tucson for seven years and it has very few miles on it; I just drive it to work, but the tires had gotten old and cracked.

Since Dave is not going to be home for a few weeks, I have decided to go to the Oregon coast. I figured since I was so close to the ocean and have not been in Playa for almost three years, I had better take advantage of this opportunity. I found a great deal on a little beach cottage outside of Yachats. For every three nights that you book, you get a night free. The reviews on TripAdvisor are great and Dave and I stayed in an RV place a couple of properties away, so I was happy that I was able to book a cottage. I have to work on a manuscript that it almost finished, and Dave told me to go for it (love you Hunny-Bunny)

, so I am going to stay in Yachats from August 5 through the 17th!

Then I have to haul butt home because I have a meeting on the 21st.

I am about set to go. All I have to do fix the drip irrigation system for the flower and veggie gardens, pack my stuff, go to the freaking meeting,

and vamonos!

Yachats is our favorite spot on the coast. All 3 of our kids learned to ride their bicycles on that beach. Sounds like another great adventure is starting.

Oh and we will make sure to save Dave a peepmeet homebrew.

I debated to call our TR..."Oregon or bust" and decided on the one we posted

. Your idea for finishing your manuscript sounds wonderful....I recently asked Mike if I could do something very similar the last week of August but up in the mountains...

So looking forward to catching up with you!!!

Dave and his siblings just converted the family farm into an limited liability corporation and he is the president/manager of it. He's tearing down the farmhouse so they can get a $2000 break on their property tax and another huge break on insurance. He's having a good time with the demolition of the house, and running the farm.

I was going to call the TR "Westward Ho."

I always pick up rocks there, but have never have looked for agates. The place where I will be staying is supposed to be a good area for agate hunting.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I could NOT believe what she was doing. Remember when she asked you and Dave if you two wanted her to flash her boobs? I kept telling her "EXCUSE ME!", but she was in her own little world.

When you or Dave would pour her a shot of tequila she would just slam it. She wouldn't sip it. I knew we were in trouble right then.
