I agree with Rick 100%.
Geez, I am still waiting for the Tulum Airport, the Dragon Mart, the high speed rail system from Cancun Airport heading south, etc., etc.,......and beat goes on. And I am always waiting on manana! The Municipal Palace was been on the books to move out to area of AV. 115 for quite awhile. Here it is best to take a "wait-and-see attitude"...........and wait and wait - it's Mexico .

Hey SnappySammy! Chisme means gossip, chismes are jokes, and chismos/a is a person who is gossipy.
Thanks to everyone who read this post and even more to those of you who have commented. I say it's gossip because as you all have stated, many of these projects have been in the "works" for quite some time. This is a land of dreams and little follow through and many many maņanas! Who knows, maybe this time one of these rumors will come to fruition? I could have been knocked over with a feather when all of the over and under passes were built along the hiway between Cancun and Akumal. Some of these projects I would love to see put into action! I guess we'll just have to wait a couple maņanas to see what happens! Happy day everyone!! |

The high speed light rail will travel from the Cancun airport at nearly 200 km/h, but due to a design error it will reach a point halfway between Coba and Tizimin.
City hall will be relocated to the Alux cave. Instead of paving, 5th Ave. north of CTM will be covered in large piles of sand, to be used in future beach re-re-reclamation projects. The airport landing strip will be moved onto the Constituentes pier. To improve water quality, sea water will be used in the municipal water supply instead of the "special sauce" it currently offers. Following extended negotiation with China, a compromise will be reached where half the outlets in every home will be 220V and half will stay 110V. An option will be offered to developers to make all outlets 165V (this will be a condition for opening Dragon Mart) |

Chismes is plural for chisme. Chisme/s= gossip/joke.
Yes, I'm sure. I speak Spanish fluently and I have studied Spanish in Costa Rica (1 year program) and at the University of Minnesota. Many Spanish words play double duty. Just look at the creative ways that the word mother (madre) is used in Mexican Spanish: que poca madre= how cool, estoy hasta la madre= I'm up to here (drunk or frustration), madres!= crap!, madrazo= a punch or hard hit. Ask your Mexican friends if you don't believe me. |
