"FM3" and airport immigration
OK, here's a dumb one to which I can't seem to find a clear answer.
My wife has a No Inmigrante ("FM3") immigration status. When we land at CUN, can she use the domestic line at immigration, or does she go to the international line? |

She could try but probably best to use the international line as she has NON INMIGRANTE status. With my FM-2 INMIGRANTE......I have successfully used the domestic (Mexicano) line the last 4 times that I have returned home to Cancun (Playa). I think the difference would be the NON INMIGRANTE vs. INMIGRANTE status.

Inmigrante ("FM2") and No Inmigrante ("FM3") are both temporary legal resident statuses, distinct from Inmigrado, though clearly they're different from each other.
No Inmigrante status makes her a legal resident for the duration of the status, requires her to have a CURP, etc. That's why I wonder about this. INM's website is no help at all. They still list the FMT and not FMM, and say practically nothing about actual entry to and exit from the country. Can anyone who holds an "FM3" No Inmigrante status and has traveled to Mexico recently comment about this? |

The short line is labeled "Mexicanos" (not residents) and like snappysammy said, if the visitors line is short, I just go there. I have been sent back once for crashing the Mexicano line - he was having a bad day, so was I, kinda grumpy all around. What I do now, if the visitors line is long, is ask a lineup herder, very nicely, in Spanish, if they will allow me in the Mexicano line, and they have always ushered me in. If I arrive at the front and someone doesn't like it, I can say "he said I could". As I'm not yet a Mexican national (and there's a future decision to be made), I do technically belong in the visitor line. And when I go to Canada, I'm in the visitor line there too....
