Akumal?

Is anyone going there soon? I would like to know the price of Dos Equies in the can for a six pack in the chomak, or the convenience store please.

Thanks in advance!

Beer there will probably be more expensive than the larger supermarkets.
Are you trying to budget?

Thanks Babaloo, yes we are trying to budget a bit. I assumed it would be more there than in Playa, but wanted to know for sure so we could stock up appropriately before getting there as we will not have a vehicle. You may have guessed that we enjoy cerveza A LOT, and would rather not pay through the nose, and if the price difference is what I think it is, that could turn in to a sizable bit of currency that would be better served going towards a couple of good meals somewhere.......or more beer!

THX

aka "Super Why Pay Less Chomak".

That being said, the price will not be so high that you'd likely be tempted to go without.

So is it safe to assume the price would be comparable to Oxxo in Playa?

No.
Oxxo would be cheaper, I'm sure.

No, I am about 80% sure the price will be higher than the OXXOs in Playa. We haven't stayed overnight in Akumal in about 4 years, but we would do everything possible to buy our beer in Playa or at the San Francisco in Tulum before purchasing it there.

If you are taking a transfer just pay the extra 10 bucks to have them stop at Chedraui in PA and stock up there.

if you would pay the extra $10, why not just buy it at Super Chomak? It's not that much more.

I just assumed we weren't talking about a few six packs. Couple of months ago it was 112 pesos at El Pueblito - right across from Chomak (Sol/Modelo is way cheaper) - San Francisco or Chedraui in Tulum sells 12 packs for Dos XX for 134 Pesos. If you go thru a case a day like we do - I'd make the stop.

The Midway in HMB or over in the Pueblo would be cheaper as well.
