Late August/early sept will get you some epic scenery up the Dempster, the fall colours are something not to be missed

That's what I'm hoping for! The Dempster has been on my bucket list for a few years now.

Hope you enjoyed the shot of Kluane Lake!

Amazing photos! I'd really like to visit this part of the world someday. Thank you for sharing.

How close are you to those bears? Some shots they look like your just a few feet away?

Glad you enjoyed them! Thanks!

The closest they got to me was about 50' away. The bear shots were all taken with a 300 mm lens, tripod-mounted. Some of them have been cropped for more of a close-up effect.

One rule when travelling in bear country: always take along someone who is a much slower runner than you are

That doesn't even look real. You need to submit that picture to Nat Geo and/or photo contests. Btw, what camera did you use?

Duh, I should have quoted the pic so you would know which one. It's been a looong three months and I'm finally feeling sort of better, guess my brain hasn't kicked in yet! (nothing serious, just a series of one illness leading to another illnesses and another, which lead to antibiotics, which lead to drug reactions...)

Sounds like a rough time! Glad to hear you're feeling better

The photo is of Kluane Lake, located in Kluane National Park in the southwest portion of the Yukon Territory, Canada.

The shot was taken with a Sony Alpha A-57 camera using an 11-18 mm wide-angle zoom lens set to 11 mm, at F11, 1/60 sec. exposure, ISO 100, using a circular polarising filter.

Glad you enjoyed it!
