Well then…as more and more peeps arrive we are starting to blend the reporting with meeting. We’ll fix that right away with another thread..stay tuned.

So…we’ve been strolling up and down the beach day by day…the sand cliff is being steadily eroded…the ledge in front of Playa Maya is almost gone.

Made our way to Yan and Ten at the bottom of Calle 4 and all is good…$50 peso chairs (with padded cushions) and 2 beers for $38 pesos…

Laying around on the beach and LB4Playa arrived right on cue…welcome Len and Carol !

Spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach and then went back to the apartment to clean up for dinner. Decided that we would then go out for drinks and then eat at home…I know…a little backwards…but….here you can see…Dirty Martini…

Peeps are starting to arrive…it’s going to be an active few weeks…looking forward to it…sonofdob

We also paid 50 pesos for a chair at Yan Ten, even though we bought food and drinks.

Lovin' the report! Keep it comin' Dan!

FWIW- we paid 50 pesos for chairs at Y&T last year- but you got happy hour pricing all day long for that fee (2 beers for 38 pesos, and I believe 50 peso mixed/blender drinks- maybe less than 50p?). Best value on the beach, IMO- w/ great seafood at a great price, to boot. I turned into Bubba Gump there- shimp skewers, shrimp tacos, shrimp ceviche- yum Did not like the crab taco, fyi.

I dig Yan and ten too, but I agree, I think their crab taco was the worst thing I tasted in Playa.

Spent the day yesterday lounging at the beach. We took the Tommy Bahama beach chairs that are provided with the apartment. They are back pack style and have a built in cooler for your beer. We just walked the half block to the beach and parked ourselves in front of the Gran Porto Real.

Headed back home at about 5:00 and thought Util’s might be a good option for dinner…the first of many dinners we will have there. We were very anxious to see how the place was doing since the passing of Papa Charly. We met up with LB4Playa at about 7:00 and walked up to 25th and 30th.

Well…Utils is as it always was…what Papa Charly had created still lives on with his spirit. The meal was great. We started with a complimentary bruschetta. Mickey had the papardelle with pomodoro sauce and I went with the papardelle with a cream funghi sauce… one of my favourites there. We each had a glass of wine and it came in at a very reasonable $300 pesos. The LB4Playa’s had linguine with shrimp in a rose sauce (I think) and the lasagna with Quattro formagio. I can hardly wait for our next visit…I think lasagna with bolognese sauce is next for me!

We thanked them all for such a wonderfull meal and let them know that we would return soon. We wandered back to the apartment and had a few glasses of wine to end off another great day in Playa…sonofdob
