Buy in Sacbe if you like noise

Just a warning to any potential buyers in Pueblo Sacbe. If you like disco music going until 4am go ahead and buy here. There is a property right next to Sacbe, adjacent to our small cenote that has events, very loud events going most of the night. Sacbe management cannot do anything about it. We have lived here permanently for 3 years and what was once a peaceful community is now not much different than 5th avenue.

That is the truth. So much for community and one with nature. It seems that wherever you go to invest your savings in a bit of natural paradise, there is a risk that some pendejo will appear as a neighbor to make some fast easy money by destroying your dream. Greedy human nature I guess. I spent the twelve hours of loud generator noise and crappy music last night thinking of a range of responses. How do you deal with things like this without adding to the negativity and downward spiral? Suggestions are welcome.

there are rules in Mexico. I have no idea what the current zoning is there and less about the current restrictions on the book regarding noise, but there are things you can do as a community. I've had noise problems everywhere in Mexico except when I lived on the golf course in Zapopan.

Well I think what we have to do is make it unprofitable for the organizers by playing really awful noises and music during their quiet times (eating etc) And that is what I think I will do.

Sorry to hear about the noise.

I'm staying at Illusion on 8th, because I thought it would be quiet. Last night the music was so loud I could hear every word, no idea where it came from. Now at 3.00am I still have a constant background drone.

I'd have to say it's great in North Sacbe where I live but then I regard this as the "good" end of town. I pity those that live near "EcoSacbe". Perhaps the name of our neighbor should be changed to "DiscoSacbe" as this would be a more honest description of it. Definitely nothing Eco about it.

Were you not complaining about the rave in you end of Sacbe a couple months ago that went on till 3am Bill , and of the noisy campground? Both of those happened IN your end of Sacbe.

The rave was a separate thing ,John next to you could not sleep and Lynn heard it all night. It wasn't so bad here because it was on your side of Sacbe.

all things considered I'd still have to say it's the best place to live, for me, in the Playa del Carmen area. Nights have been quiet for a while now.

Just wanted to update that it has been about six months since the last problem with excessive noise. As the new Supervisory Committee was being formed, we met with some of the guilty parties and reached an agreement that seems to have ended the abuse. Direct communication is often the best solution. I will have to admit that there are less noise problems in the low season. The real proof will be in December-February. If the only all-night noise comes from the few high season parties in the Guadalupana, I can live with that.
