Awesome new pics! My husband is drooling over the sliders on the beach, hopefully they will do that in August!

Who knows? We only saw them on the one day (Sunday the 17th). Even though we spent most of each day on the beach, we never saw them serving sliders again. Don't know if it was just a one-time thing or what.

Day II, Part 2

We continued our tropical celebration of St. Patrick's day with a quick trip to Trade Winds. We noted that the swings had been lowered by several inches, to the point where the bartop is now barely at eye level for the average adult. We wondered whether a few too many incidents like this one had caused management to redesign the seats:

Regardless, I'm pleased to note that once again, no gravity tests were performed on this occasion...

After a bit more beach time, we changed and headed out to 5th Avenue. We spent some time browsing the shelves at Hacienda Tequila, thinking of how best to fill our duty-free liquor allowance:

Afterwards, we continued to stroll further down 5th towards the ferry pier, where we noticed this new addition to PDC's waterfront:

My wife wondered if it had been designed/sculpted by the same artist responsible for this similar scultpure in Cozumel?:

In any event, we hung around the square for a while and enjoyed a perfomance by this group of Voladores de Papantla:

After the voladores had made their way safely to earth (and successfully collected their tips ), we strolled our way leisurely along the beach back to the RPDC to get cleaned up and changed for our dinner reservation at El Mediterraneo:

We were very well taken care of by Kevin at El Mediterraneo who ensured our glasses were kept full. I had a delicious stuffed duck breast, my wife enjoyed another seafood dish, C went for pasta and S raved over the stuffed calamari:

Presentation, as always, was superb. As we were ordering our dinner, I discreetly let Kevin know about our friends' second honeymoon. A word or two with the kitchen later brought out this nice little surprise for "los lunamieleros":

After our very enjoyable dinner, we headed outside to finish off the night at the El Mediterraneo bar. As I may have mentioned in the past, ever since this part of the resort was built in late 2009, El Mediterraneo has been our favourite place to sit down for a drink. It was at this point that we were introduced to a shot called "mini-beers" (43 Liqueur with cream and coconut milk layered on top, so as to resemble a miniature beer) and we proceeded to consume far too many......

Which brings me to the end of all that I can coherently describe from March 17......

Coming up: the first half of Day III.....

Day III, Part 1

March 18 again dawned with some overcast which, once again, burned off by mid-morning. S&C by this point had decided that their balcony was very much their preferred spot for morning coffee:

We started the day on the beach:

As the sun came out and the day warmed up, the waves lured us in:

After an uneventful lunch, we decided to take full advantage of our swim-up patio. Mich did a great job in taking care of our drink orders and so the perpetual mojito flow continued unabated:

Being only about 20' from the swim-up bar didn't hurt either:

"Studied nonfeasance" basically sums up the first part of Monday. Sun, mojitos, and not much else....another great day in Playa.

Coming up: dinner at Il Pescatore.

When you check-in, be sure to tell them that you are celebrating something & hopefully you'll get a similar set of "extras" to what our friends received.

I've still got 5½ days left to post.
I'll try to get back to the narrative in the next day or two.

2 weeks! I'm envious. It's always hard to tear yourself away from The Royal after only one week....

Staying in one of these new swim-ups?

You'll probably want to avoid Rm 634. It's the first room in the row, where the pool widens out at the end. It's also right next to the washroom as well as the main pathway leading to the Uxmal wing rooms, making it a very high traffic area. The patio has virtually no privacy at all.
