Zero sargassum! Just got home. Water is great. Beaches are small but it's beautiful again. Xpu Ha was simply breathtaking again.

I'm coming back in April. Going to be so great compared to last year's trip! Don't get me wrong, I still had a fantastic trip last spring but it's going to be awesome coming out of the water without looking like Swamp Thing.

Thanks for taking the time to post a pic Steve. Looks great. I see the place next to you is moving at a snails pace.

Well hello Roni. I hope you're enjoying Merida.

I'm heading down to Tulum this weekend so I've been poking around the forum recently. I couldn't resist responding to Steve's beach pic!

I hadn't been down to this area (8th calle) of the beach in a month or so, but last evening I went down this area and it was HORRIBLE! Most of the beach from Mamitas to the ferry terminal was clear, but there was about a half block section that was tall, thick, and smelly. A half block north it was all clear. A half block south it was all clear.

Meanwhile the bay area around Gran Porto (between Constituyentes and 12th) which has consistently been the worst stretch of beach for the past year, actually looked pretty nice! Perhaps they did something to divert the weeds and they got dumped further south?
