You know you've been back from Mexico too long when you go out in the morning to walk the dogs, it's 21 degrees out (Fahrenheit!), and you think, "Hey! It's pretty nice out today!"
Pathetic. All because the sun is out and it's not sleeting.
We've been back in the mud and dirty snow that is the upper midwest at this time of year. Mexivoof keeps bugging me to write a trip report and since I am an unemployed bum (by choice!) I have time. This will be my first attempt to post pictures, so please be patient!
We took our two dogs to my brother and sister-in-law's house the night before. It's a whole lot easier for everyone if the dogs aren't here looking at me with those big brown eyes and trying to get in the car with us. My sister-in-law, Christa, drove us to the airport on Monday (Feb. 12) morning. The weather report called for cold and possibly flurries. Yep, the weather forecasters were right on the money again. It wsa snowing. Hard.
By the time we got on the plane there were several inches on the ground already. What a lovely sight when you are leaving for Mexico! The only problem was that they had to de-ice the plane. We have never been on a plane that was de-iced before. Our departure was delayed by one hour. (After we got to Playa I was grateful it was only that long. All week we heard terrible stories about flights being cancelled all over the country. Getting there an hour later didn't seem so bad!)
Here's the scene that we left in Milwaukee
