Our Mexico Experience 2012 - Iberostar Tucan

Hi!

I don't know if I should post it here, but I didn't find any other place on the forum until now!
I'm not as good a writer as I'm a filmmaker, so I would like to present to you the first episode of "Our Mexico Experience"!

Last year my girlfriend and I went on a well-deserved trip to Mexico (PDC) and we had a blast!
Because we had such a good time, did so much awesome stuff and met some unforgettable people along the way,
we want to share our holiday adventures with friends, family, people we know a little and also people we don't know,
but still take the time to watch and enjoy our little vacation video!

I filmed quite a lot those 16 days, but as a filmmaker I have to put away the camera at times to really enjoy my holiday!:P

But no worries, still enough footage for me to make a few episodes about this wonderful region/country,
the pearly white beaches, the beautiful ocean, the exciting things to do and more!

Please enjoy and comment on this video! Episode 2 will be online very soon!

EDIT: It seems youtube embedding doesn't work that well in this post, so click on the link to go to youtube and watch the video there!
Cheryl & Tim present: Our Mexico Experience - Episode 1: Getting into the summer Vibe - YouTube

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:
This first episode we show some random shots of the experiences
to get everyone in the mood for summer!

TIME & LOCATION:
We stayed for 15 days at Iberostar Tucan in Playa del Carmen,
from the 1st of august 2012 until the 15th of august 2012.

I'm very curious on what you guys think of this video!

So please comment!

Thanks!

Grtz,

Tim

The video is awesome, great perspectives!! We always end up with so many videos that just sit on our computer since I have no idea how to compile them like you do. Great job!

Thanks guys! Really appreciate all the positive comments
and the fact that you take the time to react to the video!

I also have the same problem that I always shoot too much
and after the holiday you get swamped again with work!
The moment we got back until last week (so +/- 10 months)
I had major issues with a theft that almost ran my company
into the ground, I really didn't have the time or energy to
make anything out of it, but last week I finally had some
time and decided to make this Mexico project my
"relaxation-therapy"!

I'm juggling now between work and the Mexico series
(2 laptops on my desk), because it's so much fun to see
everything again and create something general that
everyone can watch and get that same feeling we got while
experiencing it!

Regarding the editing, when you have footage (preferrably steady
footage with a slight movement), just choose some music (not
too long), just throw it into a standard video editor and keep it
short and interesting! And try to keep the flow of the music
you chose! From the 4/5 hours I shot there, only 25 minutes will
remain in the end. And that's when I'm planning it out over 5-10
episodes!

Just something to think about when you want to make something
out of your holidayfootage!

Grtz,

Tim

Thanks so much for the compliments! And yes, the water is awesome! We were at a few places (on the whalesharktour we had lunch in a bay that looked like a pool and at the Sian K'aan jeep safari tour we had some time off before snorkeling in an awesome bay there too!)

I love the colour of the ocean, it always brightens up my day!

Have you already been there or do you still have to go for the first time?

I hope to come back next year, can't forget the sights and the awesome experiences!!

Take care!

Grtz,

Tim

I've been to Playa twice before. I'll be returning in September. I'm telling you now.. it's addicting! I've always wanted to go to Iberostar Tukan! I love how it's so jungle-y (I made up a word there lol)

The water is what keeps bringing me back. I love that blue water and soft white sand.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad my little video has the same effect on other people as it has on me!

You shot on 8mm film? Or Video8? That must've been a while back!?

The Tucan is also the best hotel I've ever stayed in! So awesome that place!!

Stay tuned by the way! I hope to finish another episode some time next week! Can't wait!

Grtz,

Tim

Ah I wish I could say the same! Turning 30 in october this year, but no plans yet on returning to those incredible beaches of Mexico very soon... We have to explore other countries as well, but I can dream about and long for that soft white beach and that awesome blue/turqoois water!

I think I'm going to dream about that now!

You should definately go to Iberostar Tucan! It's awesome! It's a good "home-base" where you can relax and enjoy the compound and the beach, but also a great place to return to after an adventurous trip!

I should get paid for all the good publicity I provide for them!:P

I like your new word "jungle-y"!:P We should put that in a dictionary, because that really sums it all up how it is over there!

Where will you be staying in september??

Grtz,

Tim
