Gringo Dave owns villas in Puerto Aventuras so I'm not surprised he's opened his place there.
If you miss Gringo Dave's old location I recommend going to Diamante K's restaurant, it's right down the street and has the same beautiful scenery and great service and food. The ceviche, tacos, and migas are my favorites.
I think those flies are a temporary thing. In January when I was in Tulum they were everywhere but I had never seen them before that........
