Diamante-K does have a bit of a gothic look and the shading from the large palms makes it even darker. If you walk further into the property toward the restaurant (southern end of the complex) there's a clearing on the backside. There you'll find a secluded private beach and places to sit on the rocky ledge that's an extension of Gringo Daves. There's merely thick jungle that separates the two. On the other side of the restaurant is a small cove where the waiters will serve you outside. Definitely worth checking out.
The thing I like better about El Paraiso versus La Vita Bella is it's closeness to the ocean. We also find it hard to resist the small rustic palapa bar on the beach at Mar Caribe... it really has that Caribbean flavor!
Kind of sad to see that wreck out front of La Vita Bella, especially seeing how sweet it looked while it was still floating in January. It was clearly in trouble then as they had pumps bailing water. I think the heavy surf in February pretty much did it in. Wonder what a vintage sailboat like that is worth?
