Is there an up to date rate chart? I was told last night that rates from 10th ave were higher, as in the hotel zone perhaps? Was quoted 70 pesos from the 10th to the ejido, was 25 pesos before. Or was this just another rogue taxi driver?

This is, as far as I know, up to date. I"m pretty sure that you've heard before that the rates on 10th aren't higher. The 25 peso fare is several years old. Is there another kind of taxi driver than rogue? Well, yes there is, but they're hard to find.

Any idea the source on these? I generally pay 500 pesos to the Airport. So either I have epic negotiating skills (unlikely), the prices went up in the past month, or this website is publishing artificially higher prices to make their services seem cheaper.

Or some other reason.

I have no idea. I just know that I negotiated 500 pesos once to the airport a year ago, and that price has been accepted ever since. (most recent was in July)

This is not a website making money on taxi's so I don't think they would inflate prices. They have been around forever with travel information to the area. The price is standard rates but like everything in Mexico...they can be negotiable. Use it as a guide and if you want to ask for a lower price it can't hurt.

Those rates are accurate.
500 pesos to the airport is a deal.

I'm old and have issues that prevent walking very far for very long. We will be staying at Aventura Mexicana (10th & 22nd I think). What should we expect to pay for a taxi from Mega or WalMart to our hotel, please?

Officially, 25 pesos.
Reality...they will try to get more.
But...from the queue at Walmart or Mega expect to pay a 5-10 peso surcharge.
I would pay the published rate, but I live here and sort of know how to deal with them.
If they try to get more than 50 pesos tell them to take a hike.
Or, if it's worth it to you to avoid a hassle, pay what they ask.
After all, you're on vacation.

Another simple way is to ask them for assistance in carrying the groceries - they always will (in my experience) - unload the taxi and carry the groceries in first (or at least to your door), then give them $50 pesos - if it's a lot of groceries, give them more. Both parties are satisfied. Suerte!

We are staying at Illusion. So we will need to walk to 10th to get a taxi. So from Avenida 10th and Calle 8 to Don Chendo Avenida 30th and Calle 24 or 26 (don't remember) it should be 25 pesos, correct?

I will tell my group to just hail a taxi get in, tell them where they are going and pay the $25 pesos and get out of the cab, correct?
Do not ask them how much, just pay the $25 pesos.
