You can download TarifaTaxi for Android it's pretty slick. Click where you are and where you're going on a map and out comes the fare... it's up to date for sure.

If you're staying in Playacar, keep in mind that some of the Playacar prices on this chart appear to be averages between the official tourist and official local price, so you might get some hassle depending on the driver.

So true. For example many drivers say that the 90 peso rate is only to calle 1. Many do not even acknowledge the 90 peso rate at all.

Also, if you catch a standing taxi (one that is parked) versus one the is driving by and hailing it down, you will be charged more by the standing taxi.
