Unfortunate but true. We were charged per person. We have been traveling to Cozumel multiple times every year for a very long time now and were shocked. We had over 25 people with us and each time a group of people used a taxi they were charged per person. We asked our hotel as well as a few friends who live there and they said that was the new policy per taxi union . It is also on Cozumel Insider.. That as of the end of 2012 they made this change. I'm hoping its not the same in Playa

I don't know how to respond, really.

We've taken a cab on Cozumel in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

I also have a current list of charges by zone from the taxi union.

Your information is incorrect.

If you are talking about a van (not mini van taxi), then that's another kettle of fish, and I do not have any information (or opinion) about them.

My response concerns only taxis.

If you have indeed traveled to Cozumel multiple times every year for a very long time, you would know that what you've posted about rates is not correct.

Stop.

Yep. According to Cozumel Insider (his source), taxi rates are for the taxi - not by the passenger. 1-4 passengers would be one price. Over four would be another - just like in Playa where there is a four passenger maximum in the "sedan" taxis.

Airport to resort

I am trying to figure out how much a taxi should be from the air port to Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. I tried looking on the information that is on here but sadly I just do not know enough about where we will be.

750 to 900 pesos.
Depending on the driver.
Use a transfer service - like Playa.info's service.

Is there a new taxi rate chart somewhere? Also, I do not understand how to read it. Lol. What zone is Luna Blue in?

Is this one current? http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...axi-fares.html

Is this one current? Playa del Carmen - Taxi Fares

Look at your map the "green area 1" goes from Playa Car to 34th street and from the beach to 307. Luna Blue is on 26th street so it is in zone 1.

So looking at the map, the beach is at the "bottom" side? Is all of 5th ave within zone 1?

The beach is at the bottom and 5th meets Calle 34 is the end of zone 1 to the right.

Playa car is to the left and is the opposite end of zone 1.

Is the taxi stand next to the Oxxo by the Playacar gate considered Playacar for rate purposes?
