Booking A Trip Question

When does Apple Vacations or Funjet usually have their 2005 booking choices available? We are interested in PDC area for March, 2005 and have not had luck using the Apple or Funjet websites. Any TA's out there wish to quote? I have learned a lot from this fabulous website, thank you.

Booking a trip answer (sorta)

Apple does not (to my knowledge) have their 2005 prices up yet. They re-evaluate the properties each year and then change the apple ratings and/or prices. Looking at the prices over the past couple years, you can pretty much go by this years prices plus 10%. If you do that, you should happy if the price stays below the projected 10% increase. Of course several things can influence an Apple price, including the cost of jet fuel for the charters. If you have any more detailed questions, I can try to answer them or at least ask around for a better answer.

In closing, you will probably start seeing the new prices and books around November. Hope this helps at least a little bit.

WOW! Are you saying Apple will not have 2005 pricing available until November? How do people plan ahead? I was planning to get my airline tickets next week (331 days) using miles but am concerned not knowing hotel pricing. Do you know approximately how much off rack rate does Apple discount hotels? If I have 2004 rack rate pricing, increase by 10%, how much less would I calculate as the Apple pricing? Any help would be appreciated.

I would use the Apple 2004 prices and add 10%. I doubt that you will see an actual 10% increase in any of the prices across the board. When I did my last comaparison (last Nov), everything went up a little bit. There were as I recall, a couple of prime properties that had significant increases, but they were also the properties that had an increase in their Apple rating as well. If you wanted to private message me with some dates and details of what you are looking for, I would be willing to make a call for you. I hope I do not appear to be "drumming up" bookings on the site, as that is not my intention.

I made a call to Apple Vacations to try to get the "straight poop" as it were for your question. I thought I would post it here in case anyone else could use the same sort of information. Apple Rep confirmed what I said earlier, that the new prices come out in Nov and the "winter rotation" starts approx 15 Dec. I asked what the earliest time was that I could book a resort through Apple for someone looking to stay March 2005 and they said usually 6 months prior to departure which would put you at Oct. There are apparently a couple of these "rotations" throughout the year, and I asked if there was a chance that something like a March 2005 trip could be booked in late summer 2004 and she said yes. I myself have run into this same problem.
For others who would be interested in Apple vacations including air, Apple usually doesn't have their summer flight schedule up until the new year. Here is a link that will get you to the flight schedules;

Hope this has been some help to you.
