Questions about the different terminals at CUN.

So, we're arriving from the US at the end of the month. We're meeting up with some friends that are arriving from Canada at the Cancun airport, and sharing a transport to Akumal.

In talking with my friends, it sounds like we're going to possibly be arriving in two different terminals. Of course, I don't know officially which one we're arriving in and I guess I won't until I check in for the flight. But whenever we arrive, it's always the terminal that, when you step outside, has the seating/meeting area to the left and the beer stand to the right (I want to say its Terminal 2, but I've honestly never really paid attention...so I could be dead wrong about that, lol!). My friend that's coming in from Canada says that the one he arrives in has the beer to the left, and no seating area. We're flying on American Airlines, and they're on Air Transat.

I'm mostly wondering if theres a way for them to get from their terminal to the one with seating, since they get in an hour before us and will be a bit tired (assuming everyone does, in fact, arrive in their usual terminals). I also would like to get everyone together ASAP, to avoid any confusion about transports and because we love them and can't wait to see them! . I hate for them to have to stand around for an hour or so...

Any insight is mucho appreciated.

Here is an airport directory of which airlines arrive at which terminal. There is a shuttle that takes you from one terminal to another..or one could walk...it takes about 15 minutes but if it is hot and you have a lot of luggage, the shuttles are better...Terminal 2 has the Meeting Point restaurant right to your right as you exit the terminal arrival area (where the mob of taxistas hang out).......have fun!

Yes, and sometimes the driver will let you stay on the bus when he heads to T3 - sometimes not.

The ADO is kewel....if you want to wait on their time ..... otherwise you can do as we do and that is to use Paradise Transfers where they are there waiting for you as soon as you exit the terminal with a sign and your name on it and you are immediately wisked away and they will also stop for cervezas ( if you wish ) on the way to PDC. They are more expensive than the ADO but, it IS a private transfer with exceptionally clean vehicles and they will drop you right at the door of your hotel !

I took the ADO up to the airport last week and the bus now stops at Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Two airlines are using Terminal 1.

ADO stopped at every terminal when i used it about 10 days ago. Just know which terminal your loved one is arriving at.

Might be easier to know what airline your loved one is traveling on.
