Construction has begun, the trees and brush are cleared and the ground is in the process of being flattened. The first building should start going up soon and completion is set for Dec '05.
No one know what the actual impact of this construction will be since the actual "building" has not begun, just preliminary stuff right now.
But........the area where they are building is set pretty far off from the present living area that the guests use now. They have erected a fence and screened it with greenery so as not to detract from the beauty that is this resort. They have built separate roads leading to highway 307 from the construction site so they are not trapsing all over the property. The huge beach that the guests use is not in any way involved.
That's the best that I can tell you. There is a thread over at the Barcelo site about this.
I'm sure they will do whatever it takes to minimize the impact that the new construction will have on their present and future guests.
