What are your favorite Netflix shows?

I am new to Netflix, really loving all the new quality programming there is to see on it....so I'd love to hear what people are watching/have watched so I can watch nothing else

So far I'm hooked on House of Cards and Lilyhammer, still haven't finished what there is of those, but I'm close. I also watched, in 2 days, a 7 episode series called Top of the Lake, which was very good.

And a quirky movie I saw recommended on another thread called "Dirty Girl", which was pretty cute.

What else do people love on Netflix?

House of Cards, hands down! (and I can't wait)

We are presently watching the entire LOST series...we may be the only folks from back then that didn't watch it....

I watched almost the entire Breaking Bad series on Netflix, from Season 1 through episode 8 of Season 5. I have to find the remaining episodes of Breaking Bad somewhere, because Season 5 on Netfilx stopped after episode 8.

I just posted in the Downton thread, as I had not noticed that you started this one.

A HUGE +1 for House of Cards. Spectacular show. Robin Wright is amazing.

Orange is the New Black is a good comedy series.

OH! And another must-see series is Sherlock (the BBC series with Benedict Cumberbatch). Only 3 episodes per season (Seasons 1 & 2 are on Netflix), but they are 90 minutes each. Great stuff!

Scandal is also a good series if you haven't seen it yet.

Edited to add: Call the Midwife. Just finished watching these, very enjoyable.

Just finished watching the second season of House of Cards. I was home sick all weekend so I had a good excuse. So good. Even better than the first season.

Agreed. LOVED Sherlock. Can't wait to see the current series that just ended on Netflix.

I love House of Cards but preferred the first season a little better. Not a Netflix show but if you have access to HBO than True Detective is the best show on television. Brilliant acting and very intelligent dialogue. I was hoping to see The Americans but I can't find it yet.

House of Cards the UK version, or US?

We haven't seen the US version.. not sure if we will watch it.

Bomb Girls.
Call the Midwife.
Land Girls.
Foyles War.
Doc Martin.
Duchess of Duke Street.
The Grand.
MI5

Damages.
The Good Wife.

Just a few off the top of my head. We are big fans of Netflix. Have had it for years.

These are great suggestions, thanks!! I'm surprised how few people know about Lilyhammer. I love that show...

Watched season 1 and episode one of season 2 of Sherlock this weekend

Wow...great show! Steve loved it too!

However, it caused me to miss the beginning of Downton Abbey last night...so I will watch it again tonight.

Season 3 of Sherlock just ended on PBS, but if you have On Demand through your cable provider, the three episodes might/should be available to watch there.

Episode 2 of this season (3) was the absolute best episode of the show that I have seen, by far (and that is saying a lot, since they are all fantastic).

I cried - both times.

We checked Season 3 is not On Demand yet...not sure why. I have Amazon Prime so that is how we are watching the first 2 seasons.

Now you've got me curious for the Episode 3/2!

Bumping this up tonight because the 3rd season of Lilyhammer was just released today. I'm through 1.5 episodes right now, had to stop to make myself dinner!! It will be hard to force myself not to stay up all night to binge on all 8 episodes.

This show is TV gold. And I think very few people know about it!!

In Episode 1 of season 3, there is a subtle Sopranos reference... awesome.

ok, ENOUGH!!! I'm back to watching.....

The Following, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black, and Lilyhammer are some of our faves. I have to admit, I do binge watch. Start watching and look at the clock and it's 5 am. 1 perk of being retired. Sleep when you need to, don't sleep when you don't want to.

I just have to say that I think Sherlock is my favorite TV series ever. I'm still hoping for the rumored Season 4 to come along at some point.

I'm toying with the idea of cutting cable. With work and 1/2 time school I just don't watch much TV. Does anyone have a Roku or Apple TV, and if so would you recommend it?
