What a great day.
Hiked up to Mega to get some supplies…stopped in at Walmart when we first got in as it’s closer but I just prefer Mega. Ran into Murray there hunting for yellow peppers without much luck. We got back home and made a snack before heading off to the beach.
Spent most of the day at the beach. Sat ourselves down at Yan and Ten grabbed a few beers and just did nothing…ha ha. Yan and Ten is by far the best deal on the beach. 50 peso loungers…2 beers for 38 pesos…cheap yet tasty seafood. Took a few strolls…out past Mamitas and then again in the other direction. The ferry terminal has been torn down and work has begun on what I imagine is the a new ferry terminal ?

It also appears that the Blue Parrot is closed…not sure if it is for renos or what but there was zero activity when we walked by.

After awhile we decided to head home and clean up and decide on dinner options. Ran into LB4Playa and thought we might meet up for happy hour at Dirty Martini but turns out 2 for 1 night is Tues there and when we stopped by LB’s were not there and in fact the place was empty. So we headed up to Club de la Cerveza to try out some beers. If you like beer you will not be disappointed with this place. Many options but we tend to stick with the Mexican beers…just seems right…and they are all very good.

Seeing as we were in that end of town we decided Util…or papaCharly Pasta Factory…was a great option for dinner. We arrived there just after 18:00 and were the first customers to arrive…although by the time we had been served our first glass of wine there was now also a table of nine, a table of six and a solo diner as well. This place never disappoints…the generous wine pours, the friendly service and of course the unbeatable pasta. Tonight mouse had papparadelle with a pomodora sauce and I had the linguine with a mushroom sauce. All in with four glasses of wine was 450 pesos before tip.

Apologies on the blurry shot here but it’s just such a good pic we thought we’d throw it in here anyway.

We made the trek back towards home and thought we’d stop in at Ummagumma for a drink but unfortunately no white wine on hand for Mickey. We did however spend a few moments with them and prepped them for Friday night’s crawl. We then thought a stop at Bar Ranita might be a good closer but the place was packed and not a seat to be had and after all the walking we had done we did not want to stand for a night cap. We headed home and had a glass of wine there and I was able to get this installment posted. Overall a very good day in PDC…let’s see what tomorrow has in store for us…...sonofdob

We just got home a week ago from an 8 night stay at Casa de Gopala! Loved it there (even with the spotty internet )! What room are you in? If it's 18, we left you some ice cube trays in the freezer.

Casa de Gopala…that is where we are this year while in PDC…it’s in a great location just off 10th on calle 2. Everything you need is close by…food…laundry…even a barber across the street.

We’ll post more later…just heading out the door and man is it hot today !

Thank you for that tour of the hotel, we are around there a lot when in town.

That hotel backs up to Villa del Mar, which is where we stayed for three years with the same room, but nothing like the room you have, very nice.

and you have "taco Gomez" right there, love that place.

And the colectivos, and a great little ice cream shop, next block up. I almost hate to tell people how much I loved Casa de G. because I don't want it to get TOO popular!!

OK…let’s try and catch up a little. We’ve been really busy lately and not all days events are posted on the day they happened…we’re at least one day behind. Anyway…we needed some supplies and Mick was not happy with her wine purchases so far so we hit up our favourite…

Before beach time we thought we should grab a quick snack…Pollo Rojo seemed to fit the bill…mixto torta for me…tacos dorado for mouse…dos cerveza…just under 200 pesos.

Headed down to Yan and Ten for a nice doing nothing much beach day…but at about 17:00 as the neighbouring water sport group (wazoo ?) was pulling one of their boats out of the water there seemed to be a problem. One was that the three women laid out with all their gear on the beach on the direct path the boat was going to take did not want to move and two there did not seem to be enough labour to move the boat. They strategically laid out the rollers to move the boat on shore but because the women were not moving had to zig zag the boat uphill. At one point the boat appeared to be rolling backward so I jumped up and help wrangle the vessel to it’s overnight spot.

Made our way back home to clean up and head for another Dirty Martini evening as it was happy hour night and if you want a martini here this is the night to do it…ran into a few peeps including jimmyMN...snappy sammy (Steve) and murrsay185 (Murray and Heather)…

There was a group of Rider fans there (Saskatchewan) who were on some kind of Rider Pride peep meet and there was one woman who said she had Saskatchewan Roughrider players (Canadian Football) sign her bras…

It was a very entertaining night at the DM…from there we moved on to Pummarola for some pizza…

Always good and reasonably priced with good wine…decided we would finish with a set of Mr Parkins at the Luna Blue…

Had a very good day and a very good night and decided to pack it in as tomorrow is Tulum…...sonofdob
