What are you thanking us for?! Oh my gosh, your pictures are amazing! You really should enter the whale picture in a contest, it's a one in a lifetime shot.

So, I think that I can speak for everyone else and say THANK YOU! Thank you so much for sharing your photos and a slice of your life with the rest of us.

This is the most amazing forum, I don't remember how I found it, what a stroke of good luck that was! I can't thank everyone enough for all of the enjoyment I get every day by checking in.

All of your pics are wonderful but that last sunset photo was stunning!

Thanks Rheta! As I look back I realize I was quite fortunate to be able to see that breach and I was quite lucky to catch that one opportunity with my camera. Even without the breach it would have been a good day, but that moment made it special.

Glad you liked the sunset. I enjoyed viewing it.

I want to say thank you, but I'm afraid you will scold me.

Seriously though, I do really appreciate the very kind words from you, so thank you very much.

Hi Mnbruce, thanks for the report we will be heading out to the same area on our family vacation in April, staying up the road from the RIU at Villa la Estancia. First time visiting this area we usually do the faimly vacation in Playa.
We also want to visit Sayulita, Do you know how much a cab ride would have cost you if you didn't have a car. Also did you go to any beach bars/restaurants if so which did you like.

Thanks

Hi Ace! I walked by your resort a number of times and it looks really nice.

I would imagine a cab ride to Sayulita would be $50 at a minimum, but likely more. If you did take a taxi I would imagine you would want to negotiate with a driver who would take you and wait while you hang around town, then take you back. Not sure how easy it would be to just grab a taxi back to Nuevo Vallarta.

Sayulita was a cool place to visit. We did grab a bite and a drink at Sayulita Fish Taco restaurant and Tequila Bar.

The beach in Sayulita was pretty active, but it may be a little less busy when you are down there.

We were so happy with the food and quality of the drinks at the resort that we did not try any other places, but Maggie (Rissask) knows the area pretty well and might be able to give you some tips for places to eat.

I'll check out cab prices when we get there, maybe renting a car for a day might be a better option. Plus we are staying non AI so I could get an extra Mega run in.

Thanks

If you are interested in getting a car for a day it was a very easy drive to Sayulita, as long as you don't mind some potholes that reminded me of home. The only issue we had was parking in town, but it was a Sunday during a busy part of the season so I don't think you would have quite the same issue. Avoid Sunday.

We made a couple of Mega runs while we were there. We walked once. It would have been 20 minutes or less had I walked by myself, but Pam uasually walks at a snails pace. Short legs. Do me a favor and send me back a case of the Yoplait Yogurt drinks. She loved that product from Mega, but when she got home she contacted Yoplait and was told it was not available in the U.S.

I think I have seen the Yoplait Yogurt drinks at Walmart in Canada, St Louis
Park is only an hour from the Canadian border. Next time i'm there I'll take a pic to post.

Who did you rent from and what was the cost ?

Thanks

Must be a different St. Louis ParK. Mine is a suburb of Minneapolis.

The Riu resorts had a Alamo rental desk, so I ended up renting from them. You pay a premium for that, but it worked out ok because I rented a car our last day and they allowed me to return it at the airport, saving me $30 cab ride. I had a Toyota Camry, which cost me $80 with tax and all the insurance included.

I think you could get a better deal at Gecko Car Rental in Bucerius, which is a town just down the beach. Their rates include tax and insurance. I tried to rent from them, but they did not have any cars available that day.
