We didn't give them any choice but they didn't mind too much, or at least they never acted like they did.

I do not know them and yes Billings is close to Roundup at about 50 miles away. One thing is always for sure on our trips, we always have fun and so does anyone with us for the most part.

Yes1 I had noticed that. I picked Sol as my forum name because in Spanish it means son. I like the beer too!

FEBRUARY 06, 2014
I awake to the sounds of birds chirping and the wonderful sounds of the ocean gently crashing on the beach as all of Playa prepares itself for another day in the tropics.

As I make my way out to our private ground level patio overlooking a beautiful sunny morning beach, I am reminded of my thoughts a few days ago as to my research concerns.

Will my advanced training help me out in any way?

Am I getting too old for this stuff?

Is it wrong to ask someone with an eye patch, “Was it all fun and games up to that point?” …………

Will the effects be the same as they were 2 years ago, 4 years ago, or even 10 ½ years ago when we arrived for our first time in November of 2003?

I am not surprised that so far they appear to be similar in every way.

The promises and hopes I made to “take it easy on the first night”, are now nothing more than a faraway dream that disappeared upon waking.

I would love to give you some guidance on this particular first day subject but only one thought comes to mind.
TAKE MY ADVICE, BECAUSE I OBVIOUSLY DON’T USE IT OR NEED IT!

For some odd reason lines from a Kenny Chesney song called “Hemingway’s Whiskey”, are rewinding through my brain. “…warm, smooth, and mean. Even when it burns, it will always finish clean. If it was bad enough for him, you know it’s bad enough for me.”

I look at my trusty Rite in the Rain all-weather memo book that I carry and notice a few scribbling’s that must have been attempted at Fah’s, Dirty Martini or possibly at Wah Wah’s. I will only list a couple of thoughts from last night without trying to decipher the significance at this point…. PalomaLover- “Tippily ease over” which I recall laughing about as she meant to say easily tip over……”Tina-problem with her drawers or mine”(I can’t decipher who had the problem….”) Oh No…. I immediately run back to the bano and find my shorts are on the right way, THANK GOD!

We must have had a discussion about people remembering us as individuals. I smile as I look at Lisa’s comment, “I like it when people remember me, it must mean I was fun at least once!”

Xaman Ha Condos

Our condo #7022 is all of the lower one story part on the right.

Lisa on the bridge near the swim-up bar.

Slowly everyone awakens and we make it to breakfast at Carboncitos just west of 5th on Calle 4. The breakfast was amazing, but the best part was the succulent mimosas.

Rare pictures of food-There won't be many in this report.

After breakfast we casually strolled back making a stop at the Fiesta Mexican Outlet to stock up on Sol beer, Espolon Blanco tequila, Captain Morgan Rum for Lisa, Fresca, boost(Mexican energy drink), and ice for our afternoon beach cocktails.

We then made it back to the condo where everyone put on swimsuits and bikinis. We loaded a cooler backpack and cooler bag with all the good stuff and made our way to our saved beach chairs.

I don’t think we needed to put towels on them as the beach wasn’t overly crowded in front of the Xaman Ha. It appears that the majority of the residents prefer sitting around the pool.

We came down to enjoy the sand and surf; therefore I had no plans of using the pool. It seems PalomaLover and Lisa apparently had other plans for the pool …………

You can’t drink all day if you don’t start early so we quickly broke out an ice cold Sol. I must say it was a wise choice as the temperature was quickly rising on this sunny day at the beach.

We were graced in front of us on the beach with a rather large woman and her small, thin husband. The awkwardness came when she pulled off her top and flopped down on her back, with well…to be politically correct or not to be…her breasts hanging off the side as they gently caressed the cool sand….. That’s not what I first thought but I do not want to upset anyone….Hmm…...Let’s just say overly ripe grapefruits stuffed in Shaquille O’Neal’s old athletic socks came to mind.

But I must admit my admiration for her not having any concerns as to what anyone might think. I turned to point her out to PalomaLover, when I quickly discovered my beautiful wife had decided that “when in Rome”, and had shed her bikini top also.

I don’t have any problem with it so it didn’t come as much of a surprise to me as she smiled and said she felt overdressed. I guess it’s time for another cerveza.

Jeff and Lisa coming back from a swim......and...ummm...the lady on the beach....:truce :

PalomaLover getting some sun.......Oh yeah Jeff and Lisa in background.

Over the next few hours we consumed a 12 pack of Sol, and then moved on to the palomas, which are very refreshing on the beach.

The afternoon was spectacular with many trips to the ocean for a cooling dip. PalomaLover had her iPod filled with various beach tunes hooked up to a mini-speaker so we could enjoy music while relaxing.

We had fun at one of our favorite pastimes as we watched people, admiring some, laughing and making fun of others.

I shamefully laugh at others misfortunes……not really…. as I know, hope, and fully expect they do the same to me as I walk by. But I have to admit as the day wore on I found myself craving a fresh, juicy grapefruit…must be the Fresca in the palomas.

We also discovered that at the south end of the Xaman Ha property is where Skydive Playa lands their clients after skydiving with tandem parachutes. We watched several come down during the afternoon as Jeff mentioned it was on his bucket list. Much to my chagrin, he enthusiastically stated he would love to skydive and land on the beach.

PalomaLover bravely informed me that we should, therefore we decided to see what it would cost in the next few days. The ladies quickly informed us they had absolutely no desire for that kind of thrill.

Ahhhhhhh........Palomas

"Wait for me Lisa"

He's fast

Ohhhhh....

PalomaLover showing me her sexy backside........how inconvenient of that wave to show up

Skydivers coming in for a landing.

The fearsome foursome......
