Nice report. Loved your pictures. We went to a show/dinner when we went to PV... I'm wondering if Ocean Grill was the same location. I just remember we got there before sunset. Saw a show and by the time the show was over, it was dark. No electricity, so we walked along a path lighted by those bags with candles in them. I don't remember the food, just that it was so bloody humid that I felt like I could not breathe! I was so glad when we got back to our hotel that evening and I was able to breathe again under the air conditioning!

Thanks for posting this, loved your pics! We are skipping Playa for our April vacaion this year and going back to PV. Your TR has me more excited, we leave in 38 days. We didn't get to explore a lot on our last trip so I'm excited to see more of the sand art, downtown, etc.

I wanted to go to Ocean Grill but my husband isn't convinced because he knows how I get sea sick..and bad. Unfortunately this TR didn't help and it's not like you can wait until the day you want to go to see how conditions are before making reservations.

I don't think the ride is long enough to get seasick and I think there is a path leading to it so you wouldn't have to take the boat. but check it out to be sure before you go.

Great TR and I love the pictures. Never been to PV, and probably won't since getting there from here would be an all day affair. You both look wonderful! I dang near choked on my tea several times from laughing at your comments!!! Here's hoping you go somewhere else soon so we can enjoy another great report! Cheers!

I've just set up flicker, so I'm gonna post some more pictures to learn the new system. I was using photobucket and found it to be a pain in the butt.

Puerto Vallarta from our hotel

Pool snack bar

Some street views

Some random pictures of town

Boca the place we caught the water taxi to the Ocean Grill

That is a lot easier than Photobucket, its easier to up load from your Apple computer using iPhoto, and I had no up-load errors like I always have with Photobucket

Loved this report....

haven't been to Puerto Vallarta in years, but in all the time we did go there; we were never able to get in the ocean because of the waves. Wished you'd had a better experience.

I would not go to PV to swim in the ocean. but it's such a beautiful place. The weather was great, I couldn't have asked for better. This trip was short and we were just checking it out for future trips. We are already planning for this late fall, early winter trip. We might even stay at the same hotel, but just not eat there much, the snack bar was good, and the beach was very nice, and a great place to lay around on the beach under a palm tree.

We just booked a flight back to PV for December third through the eleventh, and now in the process of booking a penthouse condo just above Old Town. Eighteen hundred square feet two bedroom with a very large balcony with a beautiful view of the city and bay.
Looks like Playa will have to wait till next year.

Sounds pretty sweet!

That is our very favourite time of year to go to Zihuatanejo, too. Everything is nice and green, it's perfect weather, and the town is still nice and quiet.

You should give Zihua a try, one year.... I bet you'd like it, Harold.

It's like PV was thirty years ago, so the experts say. But it has better beaches and better winter weather. it's real Old Mexico, not too big, and so friendly.

Yeah it was too sweet, the condo price doubled after first contact with the owner, so were still looking. We got lots of time to work it out.

So much for the condo above old town, at least on my beer budget, maybe I will win the lottery.
BUT!!
We just booked a funky one bedroom penthouse right on the boardwalk with a front row seat to the great PV sunsets and watch the drunks, I mean people walking the boardwalk.

It has a really nice balcony and That's why we went for it.

The inside looks like someplace I lived when I was a kid.

This should be a different kind of adventure and hopefully a lot of fun.
Got 9 months to think about it.

Loved your TR, Harold (well, we love all of your reports). I agree with the posters above that your wife is a beautiful woman!

We just booked our first trip to PV, so it was fun to see your photos! Enjoy your next trip!!
