Xaman-Ha condo

Time to get serious about booking a place for August. Planning on Xaman-Ha, but I want to make sure I'm aware of all my options. I see several 2brs at Xaman-Ha on VRBO which seem to all be managed by Rentals Your Way, but I am unsure if there are other rental companies who deal with this property or if there are any owners who rent directly (cause the places on VRBO frankly seem a bit dated and run down). When I google so many websites come up, so I am never sure who is legit and trustworthy. Any tips, suggestions, room number suggestions? Also any way to know which condos have been renovated? I understand that most, but not all have been. I have terrible allergies, so its important for me to avoid anyplace that is really musty or moldy.

I'm open to other suggestions as well, but I'm really liking the idea of being able to bring my own drinks to the beach and having access to an umbrella since I'm darn near albino.

Stayed there twice but its been over 10 years ago. Great simple condos in a good location with a great view of the ocean. We went to a rental place a couple blocks from the condos to get keys and information. Nice pool with a swim up bar. Every room is different depending on the owners. I believe u can look at most of the condos on line. The price was right at the time no food. Washer and dryer in alot of rooms. Nice balconys i would suggest 2nd or 3rd floor for better privacy.

Hi we do custom vacation rental searches and work directly with all the trustworthy management companies in town. Just contact Sandra and let her know your budget, dates and what you are looking for more or less and she will put together the best possible options for you. You do have to be very careful with rentals and make sure that the people you are dealing with are real. There have been many cases of renters showing up to their rented unit, only to find out that other people are staying there and they were scammed.

If you want to send me a PM with your email address, I will get Sandra to contact you.

Nerak stays there every time she comes to town. You could send her a pm and ask her whom she rents from.

We met a couple there this week. It's been on our list too. We went into 7102 and checked it out. Small condo with 2 bedrooms, small kitchen and living area, but well appointed. Great beach of course. Pool look nice with swim up bar that's open daily. Right next to playacar palace. So very close to 5th.

I've stayed at Xaman-Ha 5 times and. Booked each one through Andrew and Lisa at Sol Maya Vacation Rentals. They are awesome professionals and have become good friends. I know they do rentals for a few different units here.

Thanks everyone! Decision are hard! I had totally reconsidered my plans to stay at Xaman-ha when I found a gorgeous condo off beach for half the price, but then my husband reminded me that I would be dragging a 12 and 14yr old and all their crap 15 blocks to Wah Wah everyday, and I decided Xaman-Ha would work better. The condos do seem small, but I love the location, beach and pool.

Since we're on the subject.... we have never done the condo thing in Playa, but will be looking for something for several people next summer (2015). Are there any 4 bedroom units there?

I've stayed at Xaman Ha and am returning in October. First time I rented through VRBO, but this time I used Playacar Vacation Rentals (I dealt with them before when staying at Villas Arqueologicas, across the street from Xaman Ha). Playacar Vacation Rentals - Playa del Carmen Home Rentals

Pool Bar

I am not sure if its important to you.. But, when we stayed there two years ago- the pool bar was not open.. We were told that they rarely open it during the summer months since its fairly quiet- Now, I dont know if that has changed but if thats important to you, maybe look into it.
We really did love it there- traveled with three teenage girls and it was perfect.

Don't care about the pool bar. Half of the appeal is being able to mix our own drinks and bring them to the pool/beach. We prefer our liquor, so bars get pricey. But good to know, thanks.

We have access to pretty much everything that is taken care of by respected property managers. We only work with the best, so that we know they are trustworthy.

If you want to be close to Wah Wah, you may also want to check into Luna Encantada and El Faro. They are very nice beach options and a close walk to Wah Wah.
