So you dignify it by linking it twice.

As always ..... poster beware.

cozumel is great for divers but not much for your average tourist there, imo.

Yep. Worthy of being dignified twice!

It's an excellent site for discount excursions (but as with everything else in Mexico, buyer always beware)!

I'd say the prices aren't bad. They're a bit under what i've been quoted via email direct to dive shops. YMMV

Palancar Caves, if you do one dive in your life, not a bad choice.

Well, it could easily be argued that there are no bad dives in Cozumel, but Caves would be further down on most lists.

Again, on most lists, Palancar Horseshoe, Bricks, and Gardens all would be placed before Caves, but ahead of them most would place Punta Sur, Columbia Deep, and Cedral wall.

I think you have to throw Santa Rosa in there too, if you go 90' - 110'.

Many would place Punta Tunich and Delila way up there. I would agree with Tunich, but generally less awed by Delila.

One that rarely makes a list but that I love, is Villa Blanca wall.

I have hundreds of Cozumel dives. Everyone likes different things. Maracaibo is my favorite site of all, and I quite like Barracuda, San Juan, and Cantarel.

Of the Palancar sites, Cuevas is definitely my favorite - my family and I are fans of swim-throughs, which others don't like.

I thought a discussion of the less "advanced" sites more appropriate.

Love, love, love swim-throughs, that's why we're so smitten with Bricks, (lot's of them, not difficult), and Horseshoe, (not as many, but a couple are more challenging), and can often be surprised by nurse sharks sleeping in the caverns in the middle, or a lobster overhead. (Some people tire of lobsters --- we're still enchanted -- especially the bigger ones).

Never been there at the right time of year for Cantarel.

For a few hours you can rent a car and go around the island, the best part of Cozumel is with wild beaches and small cozy bars an the sea side. Some interesting idea what to visit you can find here as well Cozumel Things to Do
