Thanks Shammy. The odd thing is it allows you to log into the system which is odd. Usually when a web site isn't working, it doesn't allow the sign on process to take place.

At least we know. Thanks again.

Have a great time! We have had to postpone our trip until November.

Looking forward to your trip report to help me get through until then

I'm still debating one from our vacation to Puerto Vallarta a few weeks ago...the non-RM section doesn't seem to get much traffic though.
Unfortunately, we had to put ours off until November. We're not exactly thrilled about that, but at least we now have it nailed down. This time, we're taking our 16-year old daughter and her best friend with us (this was her sweet-16 gift from Mom & Dad). Should be fun...

We are trying to talk our friends into joining us again at the RPDC in 2015 - it all comes down to the childcare....

Go ahead and post your TR from Puerto Vallarta. While the non RM forums are obviously much less busy, there's still some great reports from other parts of Mexico and elsewhere that are worth perusing, and they make for some interesting contrasts . Looking forward to reading it!

I have to agree with Y2Y, you should do a trip review. We would love to read it and see your pictures...

The day has arrived. Finally! Honestly, I didn’t think it would ever get here.

Sad part of this first day is that all of the pictures I took with my DSLR were lost. I put the card into my laptop, viewed the pics, then went off to dinner. Came back, saw them on the screen and then promptly wiped the disk thinking I had imported them. NOT. Oh well, even my recovery software couldn’t retrieve them. So, everyone is left with iPhone pictures.

We left the house at 4:30 a.m. Made it ½ a block and we had to turn the cab around to go retrieve my husband’s phone that he left at home. Got back into the cab and made it to the airport, checked the luggage and waited for departure.

On the first leg:

Made it to Philly and our gate and no plane. OK, OK, no biggy…it was about 30 min late so that pushed departure back about 40 min. Finally got on the plane and due to weather, we were delayed on the tarmac another 45 min. Arrival in Cancun was about 1.5 hours later than expected.

We were upgraded to first class, so we enjoyed drinks and food on the way down. Forgot to take pictures.

Leaving US…FL:

Arrived and found Cancun Transfers waiting for us as expected. Even with the tardiness, they were right there.

Shores of Mexico:

Landing in Cancun:

Made it to The Royal in quick time. Hopped out of the transport, dropped our luggage with the bell guys and headed for the Romance Concierge office. Willie was on duty today so we checked in with her and sat and chatted for about 30 minutes. She is such a dear and we enjoyed our time to catch up. We have been emailing back and forth for a year now. She and Charon are awesome!

By this time it was 1:30 p.m. and the room wasn’t ready. So we headed off for Pelicano’s for lunch. The flank steak was calling my name.

After lunch we headed back to see Willie and she provided us our keys and we headed off to our room. The view from 337 is to die for:

Of course the room was perfect. I remember why we came back.

We got changed and headed down to the beach for our first dip of our vacation:

Hubby enjoying the warm tropical waters:

We have Lifeproof cases on our iPhone’s so in the water they went. The next couple of pictures were taken with the phone. Then the case started to leak…so no more water shots for me. (the phone was ok though!)

The construction next door

An underwater shot

Bobbing up and down:

Came back to the room after spending some time down on the beach. I found this next shot super funny. My husband ironing his shirt for dinner. This ironing board is kid sized…

First night’s dinner was at Asiana. Love, love this place.

Sorry, the missing pictures from the remainder of dinner were on the SD card for my camera…gone.

Made it back to the room and found turn down was as prompt as usual.

The other missing pictures were from the wonderful hot tub drawn for us while we were gone. Rose petals and all. I totally love this place…

Will catch up the next two days tomorrow. I have to do it before the tequila taints my brain cells.

First full day. I can’t believe we are here again. We went to bed super early last night and actually slept until 6:30 a.m. which is RARE for us. No sunrise for me today.

We decided to do Spice for breakfast. Last year, one of our favorite waiters was Jeronimo. He always worked Spice in the a.m. We found him at Pelicano’s yesterday at lunch time, we promised to eat at Spice to catch up with him. He had us sitting at our favorite window seat. Felt like home.

I have to say that last year, in room 238, the wifi was blazing fast. This year, in 337, not so much. Pretty much dog slow. We had a router in our room last year, this room, not. We do however have a dehumidifier!

Anyway, back to the report…

Breakfast was amazing…chorizo omlette and Chilaquiles. Life certainly is good.

Headed down to the pool area to catch some rays. Wanted to take some shots on the beach…enjoy the pics everyone.

Definitely a cloudy morning. In some of these you can see the clouds coming in. It did rain quite heavily for about 20 min. We took shelter in Pelicano’s until it passed. Then enjoyed the awesome sunshine for the rest of the day!

Construction next door

Hubby enjoying the surf

My DH

In front of the GPR

He’s a very very happy guy ☺

Came back to the room after a glorious morning at the pool. Room made up as usual with the happy towel art

Headed in to town to have a massage at Magic Hands and then to see Laura at Ambar Mexicana

Jan amongst his friends

Walked back via the beach

Part 2 in the next block.

June 12, 2014 part 2

Text was too long for one entry...here is the rest of 6/12:

Then back to The Royal for some drinks then dinner at Maria, Maria’s

Best Bartenders ever

Teaser at Maria, Maria’s

That awesome bread!

And the snails!

Husband’s scallops

While the appetizer was being served, Jan went to the restroom. Took him forever. He came back and the manager came over to the table and asked if he was ok. What? Come to find out, he had slipped on a wet floor on his way to the restroom, fell and must have been knocked out for a few moments. Poor guy. He just had a hip replacement back in January. He didn’t need that. He was fine but he’s gonna be sore in the morning.

The rest of the dinner was kind of lack luster. I was worried about him and I think he was too.

Back to the room and turn down was amazing as usual.

Took a look out the window on the balcony and saw the full moon glistening on the water while a wedding reception was taking place on the beach. The photo doesn’t do it justice.

Sorry things seem a little choppy. I really need to do this daily. Trying to remember a prior day after all that takes place IN a day, is tiresome.

Life is good and this place remains amazing. I thought we were treated like royalty last year. Last year’s treatment doesn’t compare to what we are experiencing this year.

More tomorrow!

I should take a picture of them and send it to you. But I need a pedi, badly, so the photo op will have to wait. After reading about your hubby slipping and falling, I'm thinking I should return them and get something more age appropriate

Glad you guys are having such a great vaca!

Thanks for the updates and pictures! That's a bummer about the 1st day pictures but love the ones you did get. I lol'd at your hubby ironing his shirt. Your shirt on the plane is awesome too

The bread at Maria Marie's and the Thai Beef Salad are making me miss RPDC more than I thought possible. Hopefully your husband is feeling better and you found some good amber!

I've been checking the webcams since my admin is also down there right now (their 1st major vacation in 10 years of marriage) and it looks like the weather has been great. Hope it keeps up through Thursday.
