well, cappy trip thread...(so far)

Can't think of anything more original than that.

Started out with a "bang". GF forgot her phone in KC, but her daughter got it to us right before we went through security.

Got to Charlotte about 9 pm NC time. Ate at airport, apparently nothing around hotel. In bed by 11ish, up at 4 am. Back to airport to check-in. We were told by KC US Air folks and even the hotel van driver, be there 2 hours early....so we did. Then we sat for two hours by our gate...trying to catch a nap.

Flight to Cancun was good, we sat in the aisle by the emergency exits over the wings...got to stretch out. Slept some as well. Flight was about 2/3 full.

Rain in Cancun, but hey that's normal....right? stopped a bit then as we headed to PDC on the ADO the clouds got darker and darker. Started to rain, hard. Made it to the bus station. Rain...rain..rain....

We did walk around a bit after getting to condo/hotel. Did get to the beach early evening....walked on beach collected some shells. Went to Wah-Wah had a pizza and listen to bar band "The Dirty Bastards" danced a bit, small crowd. Then another band from LA - Brian...something..played. A bit more just listening music. Headed home to crash.

Forecast says THUNDERSTORMS all this week..."ya got to be shittin me"...hopefully in a day or 2 we'll get some sun and beach. Neither of us are big sit at the bar and drink...nor just wonder around in the rain and shop. SUN SUN SUN....that's why we came.

Pics will come shortly...especially if the rain keeps up

I completely agree with your title Sooner guy! We arrived yesterday also, and the highways were covered with water! It has finally stopped raining for now, we sure hope the sun comes out tomorrow.

Enjoy...it's still a vacation. We, of course, want pics!!!!

Well that's too bad. We just got home from PDC Friday and had nothing but beautiful hot weather. I believe it rained once and that lasted about 10 or 15 minutes then cleared up to be beautiful! Hope your trip gets better! Wish we were still there.

Dang, that sux. I hope that the sun comes out and the weather stays pretty for you. If not, I hope the fact that we are all looking forward to your TR encourages you to find fun and humor in your visit to paradise. So sorry this has gotten off on a bad foot for you guys...

Yay, a real time trip report; thanks! I sure hope the weather straightens out for you guys. But even if it does rain you're still on vacation in a beautiful place with delicious food and drink! I'd rather be in playa in the rain than at home in sunny weather. Have fun!

Nasty/Dirty...6/half dozen! lol..I kid, thanks for the correction. They were good.

well ANOTHER bad omen! lol...I forgot the camera cord to upload pics...well got the wrong one.

Sunday - more rain...but hey, tryin to just relax and enjoy. I figured us (US citizens) tend to take cover rather then to just go with the flow...so we are trying to go with the flow.

Walked around some more...tried to find some out of the way places to eat (internet was down so no looky on list) ended up at HC Montery, had tacos..good.

Ended up going to Mass in the square on 5th at 7 pm, then to Wah Wah again. Damn, talk about storm...but only enough to get us soaked...even with umbrellas...lol.

Stayed for a drink then went to a place on 5th/just south of 10calle, kind of across from Starbucks. couple of guys with acoustic guitars...EXCELLENT time. Headed home around 12, got in the hot tub...(sorry no pics of that!)

Monday - cloudy, sprinkles off and on. Went shopping some more...mainly walked around. Ate some grilled chicken and tortillas. Bought the chicken off a cart in the town square on 15th ave and the tortillas at a small store.

Decided, WTH, we came here for the beach...so we got suits on and headed out. Walked up to Mamita's...as soon as we sat down the drizzle came. hung out for an hour then headed back. Chillin on the balcony now.

Crazy MAJOR construction up by Mamita's.

We are staying at The Blue Pearl, our access to the beach is by the light house. We are half block to beach and 5th. There is a bar right by entrance but we hear nothing at night. It does have a roof top small pool, wading/getting cooled off on HOT days..hmmmm...not sure what that is~

yeah we ran into a couple from Holland, chatted a bit. They had been here 12 days, 2 more to go and said no rain at all. Hopefully it will clear up by Wed.

thanks...yeah, I feel for the GF, her first trip here, I bragged about how cool and beautiful the water and beach is. Yes, we are very blessed to be here...just a day or two of sun would be great. Good Lord knows it'll be sunny and hot in Kansas when we get back...but no beach

Thanks, PG...where at in Okla? lots of family in Edmond, OKC...parents from Medford.

Tuesday - oops...cloud cover is deceiving... got a little burned. Hung out at Mamita's. Meet another couple from St Louis, he's just retired from teaching, second marriage...very similar to us. They came in on Sat as well...and had the same thing to say about the sun. Trying to convert them from AI...lol.

Bought the fiance a Mexican opal ring...very beautiful...hopefully a decent deal. She loves it so it's good there.

Ate lunch at el fogon on 30th by megamart. Very good. Had flank steak, potato, grill onion bulbs, totillas, peppers/cheese...

Again, pics WILL COME...eventually. chillin...headed out to walk around...thinking we are eating our leftovers tonight.
