TomLady,

First please accept my condolences to your entire family for your loss., It hard to hear the news...at first........I am in Playa now...and somehow I always visit Rockyt the first night! This did not happen on this trip.

I feel good that Rocky lived...a well lived life and did life on his terms. We were coffee buddies for a couple years when we were building our house. From that.....Over the years.... it was us vistiting at the Beer Bucket or in the past few years La Rana. I loved your Brother!!

I sure would like to be at any service that may be organized. Please annouce any details.

Take Care,
Maureen

To friends of Rocky

I have spent the last couple of days reading all the comments that everyone has left and am deeply touched by all of you.
My plans were to come down for the memorial tribute this Sunday at 5:30pm but am unable to get a flight down in time for it.
I will be thinking of all of you and Rocky at 5:30 and I am thankful that he had some great friends to look after him for all these years as I know that he loved it down there and everyone as well.

Thanks again, may you all lift a drink in memory of Don "Rocky" Hlady tomorrow and remember to celebrate his life and not his death, as he would want everyone to remember him in this way.

RIP ROCKY

Your brother

Tom

Dear Tom,

Rocky had so many that loved him ...because he was so incredibly kind, mellow and beautifully grateful for his life! When I last saw him... we chit-chatted about his trip to see his brother. I'm not sure which brother, but it was the highlight of his year!! San Francisco??...i think?? I met Rocky when we were building our house down here 9 years ago. Rocky would have as many newspapers as he could possibly find...Wall Street Journal, Trib, US Today....We drank coffee and he gave me the summary of the "world at hand" every day. Treasured moments!!!! Rock was extremely intelligent and also not afraid to speak his mind on whatever day's news happened to be. I am so grateful for these mornings with Rocky....it later moved to be visits at the Beer Bucket and then La Rana! I am most grateful for knowing such a good man. Vaya con Dios Rock!

Thanks Mo,
Yes he did get to visit with me last and we had a great visit,I live in Las Vegas,Nevada so he was able to enjoy our weather although it was hot but we were able to go out to my boat on Lake Mead and take in a BBQ at one of my friends houses here.
Thanks again for being there for him and for being a friend.

If anyone is able to video the memorial tomorrow just a few bits and pieces and email it to me I would really appreciate it. And I can share with my family here.

Tom, thanks for posting and my deepest condolences to you and your family!

I'm also unable to make it down there tomorrow, but at 5:30 on Sunday, I will be lifting a drink in Rocky's memory! It is Father's Day tomorrow and will be a great day to honor your brother and remember him for all of the memories he has left his friends in Playa! He was a great guy and will be remembered by so many and his legacy will live forever...

RIP Rocky - Gonna miss seeing you on my next trip...

Tom

I remember the year he visited you over the Christmas holiday. He got a kicked out of the fact it snowed. Tom not sure you read the personal message I sent you here -we met Rocky in 1989-our first visit and always looked forward to visiting with him. And he was loved by many. I know if he didn't show up at 5 at the beer bucket or Larana-we would get concerned. There are few left in Playa from 1989-Rocky will be missed!

The Usual Suspects!

With yesterday's passing of Tom Lee, I only wish I had a photo of Rocky, Tom Lee, Keith, and me! Great friends.
