Anybody been to Xpu Ha Palace
A couple of my friends are going to stay at the Xpu Ha Palace and asked my wife and I to go along. We have been to PDC before and love it but never done the all inclusive thing there. If anybody has stayed here could you please give me some input, also how far is it realy from PDC.
Thanks. |

Xpu Ha is what is known as an "eco resort". It's set in a jungle atmosphere and instead of buildings, they have 2 story "huts". All the rooms have a 2 person jacuzzi in them, which is a nice plus. It's a VERY big place and people ride bikes or take the tram from place to place. The beach is outstanding! Since the folks staying at the Aventura Spa Palace don't have their own beach, they use the one at the Xpu Ha. There are times when Xpu Ha has been overcrowded with ASP guests and I have had a few complaints of this nature.
Food is hit or miss...some love it, others don't. But that would be the case almost anywhere. There is a cenote (mouth to an underground river) right on the property so the snorkeling is very good. A stay at the Xpu Ha will get you a "Palace Passport Promotion" which entitles you to free unlimited tours to some of the area's attractions. You have to sign up for these immediately as space is very limited. It is a ride to town and if you were planning to go there alot, it'll be a hassle if you stay at Xpu Ha. Take a look at their web site, some good pictures there. www.palaceresorts.com

We stayed at Xpu-Ha last year and absolutely fell in love with it. We're going back in June.
Check out www.tripadvisor.com and type in Xpu in the search box and you'll get lots of good reviews. This resort is not for those looking the typical luxurious resorts where you go right out of the lobby to the pool, but if you like tropical paradises, you'll love Xpu-Ha. It has the most gorgeous beach I've ever seen and there are tons of things to do there. To be honest, I'm glad I don't see Xpu-Ha on this board all that much, because I don't want it to get too crowded! |

Wow! We really must have had slow taxi drivers! We went in to Playa from the Barcelo (right next to Xpu-Ha) several times during April 1- 10 and it took 20 - 25 minutes. The first driver was the shortest trip. He took the road that dropped us off right by the new mall area where the taxis sit, close to the Ferry and Senor Frogs. The other rides we were left off more in town, a few blocks off 5th. It was quite interesting seeing the other part of town. It really opened my girls eyes!
It was a great learning experience for all of us!
