It just kills me because I found some great little boutique places to stay but my husband is a lot more comfortable with AI so we booked Casa Velas. However when we were walking around the few times we got out he'd see a charming hotel and ask why we didn't stay there...it's hard not to smack him sometimes!

Old Town, aka the 'Romantic Zone', is the south area of the city, where the mountains come right to the ocean, and all the whitewashed houses with red roofs are, with cobblestone streets; yes, you were there! Around the church.

The city has gotten a bit big and busy for us, we prefer Zihua now- but we'd stay just outside of the city, when we go to PV again, which we will. I think we'll stay at one of the condos on Playas Gemelas, it's a great beach! White sand!

Thank you but not anywhere in your league of photos. The one of the bee/wasp in the photo thread looks like it's staring you down...impressive.

I have a decent DSLR but shoot in automatic since all of the settings are overwhelming to me. I've never been a technical person and as soon as I learn what one setting does I move on to the next and forget what I had just learned. It doesn't help that I don't practice as much as I should. I actually had to google "how to make the background blurry" while on vacation and playing around...then quickly went back to auto

Oh this TR was wonderful. PV looks so peaceful from that hotel. I've never ventured to that side because well PDC...

I'm glad you had a nice vacation in spite of the walking boot. I'm in love with the AI bracelet. It looks something that wouldn't bother me as much.

Thanks again. Love all the pics!

Awesome pics and report, Mrs. Fresh!

I haven't been to PV... yet. It's a shorter trip from Denver vs going down to Playa, so someday we'll do it. Maybe when we're sick of Playa.

So enjoyed your trip report. My husband has been to PV but I have never been to that coast of Mexico. Your pictures are beautiful and although we aren't typically AI lovers, your hotel looked beautiful. Especially loved all those food pictures... Thanks so much for sharing!

We love PV but not as much as the other coast...for us it usually comes down to the package price. I will say that the weather this trip was beyond perfect, no humidity at all so it almost felt like we were somewhere else all together. My husband wants to go back the same time next year but I doubt we'll ever find this hotel at the great rate we paid for it. We paid $2700 total for 7 nights and great non-stop flights. I know it's early but the same week for next year is coming in a little over $4200.

Thanks! This was definitely a different AI experience. We felt like we were at a high end boutique resort the entire time and simply didn't have to pay for food or drinks. If the resort had ocean view rooms and was on the other coast I'm fairly certain my husband would have bought into the 'ownership'. He still talks about buying into it since the service was just that good. We will definitely be back someday.

Don't know how I missed this report. It has been a very long time since we have been to PV......this looks like a very nice resort. Thanks!

Were on our way to PV tomorrow. This is our second trip and we are staying in a small condo on the board walk. This is our first time not staying at a hotel and I'm not sure how well we will like it. I cant wait to get out of the cold.
Great report, I hope mine will be as good, were old and kinda boring.

Have a great time. We stayed at a condo just a block up from Andeles. Great location in the romantic zone and still quiet for sleeping. Have a blast and lucky you for escaping the cold. We have to wait until Feb for our trip to Isla Mujeres.

Let me know how the trip is! Please post about your food adventures, I'm itching soooo bad to do a non-AI/resort trip to Mexico. Hope you have great weather & a fun and relaxing trip!

Where are you staying at in Isla? We just got back from there a few weeks ago, loved the entire island!
