Lindo Crowding
We are arriving at the lindo on may 4th,there will be six of us. I have heard that the lindo is so packed you have to be out at the pool or beach before 9am to get good chairs. I hope that it would not be as crowded in may,but i do not know. please help with any info. thanks

Never been there yet, but I'm celebrating the honeymoon there mid May. With 5 LARGE pools to choose from, I highly doubt that finding something will be that bad. I also heard that there are lots of chairs on the beach if it ever does become a problem.

Unfortunately, it is true. Actually, you'll have a better chance finding something around the pools, but the beach is always crowded. Trying to find a couple of chairs together, let alone a free palapa is almost impossible, unless you get out there in the early morning.
We went mid-February, and this was the case then. I can't imagine it will be any better with the warmer weather coming. I have yet to write a full review. Our opinions seem to differ from most that I have read here. At any rate, hope you have a good time. Mostly, it's what you choose to make of it anyway! Slappy |

Obviously, no one knows exactly how it will be on May 4th but if it means anything to ya....mid Feb. is right smack in the middle of high season and almost every, if not every resort was booked solid.
May is low season and in general, it will be much less crowded. But the "7 AM towel game" is nothing new, it happens at sooo many places. Just something you have to live with, or find a resort where it doesn't happen. Believe it or not, such a resort does exist! (no towel game at the Barcelo Maya) |

The "7 AM towel game" is:
When you have to wake up at the crack of dawn to place a towel or some other personal object on a lounge chair to reserve it. It's even worse if you want a lounge chair UNDER a palapa. If you do NOT do this and decide to have a leisurely breakfast or sleep late, you will be forced to sit out in the sun all day long (and possibly not on a lounge chair!) and shrivel up like an overcooked burger! This is what is known as the "7 AM towel game" and it's such a drag. |

Before we went to Secrets Capri, I told myself I refuse to do the 7 am towel game. Guess what??, that thought didn't last too long once we were out of a chair one day. Unfortunately, I have been reading that this game goes on at most resorts. Is that true Shammy??
