I forget you're leaving g tomorrow!! I get so excited for other peoples vacations

We have a local "Cheers" type of place close by & my favorite bartender is working a double. Since I can spend Monday recovering we're thinking about grilling bacon wrapped jalapeños and corn on the back patio & hanging out up there....wishing I was in Playa

Had a good day, a very good morning finding stuff we needed to buy - sometimes quite an accomplishment in Mexico, but then.....

Riss, no, reversing not possible since I had too many stops and countries involved. Took me several months to figure out where to go etc. And finally the whales would already be gone from Tonga. Therfore I just skip Tonga and start with the second leg in Vanuatu. Otherwise too much hassle and cancellation fees etc.

Linda is in Belgium with my pregnant daughter and family...any day now my new granddaughter will be joining us..it is hopefully really going to be a "Labor" Day weekend for my daughter!

I am hobbling along with crutches after my arthroscopic knee surgery, but I have the occasional company of my MIL, Huguette and our family of animals, Buddy, Sophia, Beau and Mikey....and a wonderful restaurant to feed me.

Hoping Andiline gets well quickly and back on her fabulous journeys and wishing the best for Doggiemom who lost her little doggie-boy this past week and Luv2Dance, who is amazing after going through some major surgery this week....also hoping for better outcomes for my friends Tony and Cheri....

I hope everyone has a marvelous weekend!

Jack, I was wondering if you would soon be granddad again... it certainly looked like it. Can't wait to see pics of another cutie grandkid of yours!

Ohhhh, I see. Well, make the best with what you can, it will be a great trip, I am sure!

It is a bit rainy here in Playa but we still had a great day, the Aventura Mexicana is not fancy but very comfortable! We have a very cool room, it's a stand-alone cabin-y kind of place with a private sundeck, very nice. Going to line up a couple of dive days tomorrow, had El Fogon of dinner and some Pinguinos for dessert and we are happy campers!

The kitchen saga continues. We decided to tile the backsplash. First time doing one. Done and we are still friends! Looks great with the new hardwood floor.
Put a couple of pork roasts on the smoker and remembered that I had 4 rib tops (the part you cut off if you want all of your ribs the same length and is a bit bony) left in freezer from last month. Thawed and threw them on too.
Mrs D just tasted some and called it "meat candy".
Going to kick it for a bit.

Okay. New weekend. How did everybody fare the long 4 day work week? What's in store for this weekend?

For me, mostly nothing, and I'm looking forward to it! I like doing mostly nothing. Just don't get that opportunity very often anymore.

Picking up some 25 kilo sacks of salt for the water softener, buying Kathy a little Singer sewing machine, slow cooking a top sirloin roast, drinking some rum and diet cokes and wine, spending some time in the sun, taking a siesta...damn, I am tired already

That sounds like a busy day. You should slow down in your retirement. The salt can wait. And juggling rum and coke and wine might get you tired. I'd say, skip the salt, the coke and the wine, and add in double siestas. It's the only smart thing to do.

Annual Corn Festival in our little town. Heading to corn festival pancake breakfast. Then pick up grandkids to take to parade and ride rides. Hubby and I will go this evening for good food and music. Tomorrow by 8 am I will be riding my bike on a 40 mile fundraiser. Fun times!
