Family of 5 from Texas

Hello, All! My name is Crystal & I am so excited that my husband, Zac, & I are moving our family down to the Quintana Roo area. We have 3 children, a 13 yr old, 2 yr old & a 2 month old. We homeschool & are bringing a Waldorf-based, Earthschooling curriculum. Looking forward to meeting some of you.

Welcome here!

We are a French-Canadian family and we just moved to Playa. Our daughter goes to a Montessori school, which the philosophy is similar to Waldorf.

You are coming down with 3 children, impressive!

Good like with your move and keep in touch.

Moving experience.

hello, I am new to this forum. I see that you made the same move that we are contemplating. Just wondering how it all panned out? Looking for info related to relocating my family to PDC. We are paying nearly $800/month in health insurance cost here for a very crappy plan. And pay high property taxes and HOA's. Can you send me contact info for who you got your health insurance through? Do you also have homeowners insurance there? I have heard it can be pretty high due to the hurricane coverage. In general, how bad are the property taxes and HOA's there? Any other advice you can give to someone contemplating this move? I am 48, wife is younger. We have 4 year old son and 16 year old son who live with us. My 16 will stay here in the States to go to University. I also have a 9 year old daughter who will be visiting us frequently, and hopefully I can talk her mom into staying with us full time. Thanks for any info you can provide. David
