Booked Secrets Capri for May....right choice??

We are booked at Secrets Capri for a week in mid-May. We've never been to an All-Inclusive resort and don't know what to expect.

Our vacation style is laid back and kind of quiet, but we enjoy high end. Did we make the right choice in resorts? What's good, what's not?

Why CF...I can't even imagine WHO you could be talking about?

And no time clocks, I've been working all night, I have an excuse for being 2 hours late!

macntuck,

You made a nice choice. Secrets is high end, about as high end as you can go without staying at the Royal Hideaway. You should enjoy yourself so don't worry 'bout anything....just go and have a great time!

If you have any specific questions about the AI thing, just give a shout....CF knows the deal.

Secrets Capri

Capri is still very new. I have not been there myself, so I have to go by what I have seen in photos from peoples trip reports and the reviews I read. I myself had Capri very high on my list for this summer, but I decided to go to the IB LIndo. From what I have read, the Capri got off to a rocky start, which is not unusual, but over the past couple of months, the reviews have vastly improved. Back around Christmas time, the reviews were like a roller coaster. I think we will be putting Secrets Capri back into the top slot for next years trip.

If you are like me in that you enjoy laying out in the sun which some good tunes, you may want to take an MP3 or CD player with you. Seems there have been some turf wars over music playing around the pool.

I for one would love to see your trip report once you go to Secrets. Until then, if you haven't already done so, search for Secrets Capri. There have been some GREAT trip reports on here and some have fantastic photos. Enjoy your trip.

We are going to Secrets in June, can't wait. I have some questions, if anyone out has an answer, I would appreciate mucho.

Is there a bus to PDC or Puerto Morelos, or taxi only?
Can mopeds be rented?
Are the steam rooms and suanas free? Coed?

Thanks!

This will be the perfect vacation for you. We were there March 20th-27th and loved every minute of it. I am in mourning as we speak, because I am missing it so much. I will be glad to answer any questions. Check out my photos at snapfish.com. When asked for e-mail address key in robino45@comcast.net and the password is secrets (of course)!

In the past we have been to Sandals & Beaches AIs, so when researching an AI there were certain parameters we were looking for. I read all of the reviews posted about Secrets Capri from the time they opened until the time we left. But everything was perfect and went smooth from our flight, Apple Tours picking us up at the airport and our room (Jr Suite 108). Right across from the pool bar. I can not remember a more relaxed, pampered vacation. I will be looking into returning next year to either the new Secrets Excellence or back to Secrets Capri.

PDC - they have a shuttle service via taxi's at 6:00 and 6:30 in the evening. The hotel pays for you, but my husband and I went time during the day and it is $10 one way.

Not sure about mopheds.

Steam room and saunas being free, not sure. I heard if you used 1 of the services in the spa (massage) you could use them for free.

BAsed upon our trip to Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana, I too have booked Secrets Capri for this June 23-30th.

I can say that we were very impressed with Secrets Excellence. It offered a high-end product at a reasonable price. We're excited to try out Secrets Capri to see how they compare.

Robino was kind enough to e-mail me the activity schedule and dinner hours. I also have a spa price list from the resort. I'll upload all of these onto my web site this weekend (and since I've publicly mentioned this, I'll be forced quit procrastinating Robino lol).

Enjoy!

My husband and I just returned from secrets last night. I had to jump on this morning to let everyone know how wonderful it was. We too were so nervous when we read the previous reviews but this place is really fantastic. The resort itself is gorgeous and the service is outstanding. You will be pampered from the moment you walk in the door until the sad moment when you have to leave. It would be too lengthy to try and thank all of the helpful staff members by name(even though they will remember your name all week and greet you with a big smile and Hola!) I would however like to thank Azuscena,Aliser,Alejandro and Paolo for their tireless efforts keeping everyone entertained. We had a deluxe oceanview room on the fifth floor of the main building and the view was of the pool and the ocean. Our room was cleaned each day and our mini bar restocked as well. There was a towel animal in our room each day as well. As for entertainment there is plenty to do if you want or you can relax too. Azuscena,Alisera,Paolo,Alejandroand Paulina are always around leading some sort of activity. I would suggest trying one of them because you will meet a lot of other guests that you can mingle with during your stay. We played waterpolo and we had a great time. While we were there they had a mexican night by the pool. They had a live band playing and a show at the end. There was also a caribbean night right on the beach. They set up a buffet and a stage on the beach. There was also a live band and a show. The staff worked very hard all day long preparing for this event and it was really wonderful. They have a show each night and after that the Desires bar is open until 1am. There was a band each night in Desires as well. We did not find the resort to be lacking entertainment at all. I would also like to say that we found a lot of the guests at the resort to be really friendly and it was easy to make new friends that you could mingle with during your stay. I think this is a result of the warm and friendly atmosphere that the staff creates. As for the pool it is fantastic. The resort does have plenty of floats for the guests. The proble is the select few rude guests who hoard the floats by hiding the under their chair cushions each day...shame on you. We still found there was plenty of floats to go around as most of the guests had the deceny to leave them in the pool for the next guest when they were done floating. We found all of the restaurants to be very good. The poolside and beach waitresses are always around and very prompt with bringing back your order. The bartenders at the pool bar and the beach bar are a lot of fun. I also want to let everyone know that there was music by the pool beginning at 8am and right on throught the day. When we were there the resort was at 100 percent occupancy and we never waited more than ten minutes for a table in any restaurant. We cant thank the staff enough for such a wonderful vacation and we can't wait to go back!!!!!!!Any questions fell free to ask.

Quick Question

Just wondering can you get bottles of wine in your room? From room service? Or is everything by the glass? Just wondering cause' it sounds like the bar closes fairly early....and what if we want to stay up and play? Were not big on beer and wanna know if maybe they would stock our mini bar with wine or other spirits? Hmm... let me know. And if anyone is going June 26-July1, we're going too! Hopefully we can meet a few couples who wanna stay up late and have a few! Were not huge partiers, but we are definetly not planning on being in bed by 10 on our honeymoon! Ok thats all for now!

CANurseGrl...I didi not bring a digital camera with me so right now I can't post my pictures but I will try. Vikki...As far as ordering a bottle of wine to your room I am not sure. Contrary to prior posts we found no problem with the night life here. There was a live band in Desires louge every night we were there and it was open til 1am. We met a lot of people who liked to stay up at night and we would meet in the Lobby, catch the show and then go to the lounge after. You can be as busy or as quiet as you want here.

Vikki, I am a wine drinker and they wouldn't bring a bottle to the room (unless you paid for it) but they would bring glasses of wine to your room. So I would order 2 or three and keep them in the refrigerator. As for night life, there is plenty to do. They had a casino night one night and that was really fun. You can also go into town.
