The Chelem Elves would like to Thank Playa del Carmen

Seasons Greeting Citizens of Playa del Carmen! The Chelem Christmas Dreams Toy Drive Elves would like to take this opportunity to thank Playa del Carmen for your support this year. Through this message board, we've met some new friends willing to reach a hand across to the other side of the Peninsula and, as usual, the majority of the free hotel stays that we use as raffle prizes to raise money for toys have come from the generous hearts of the hotel and resort owners of Playa! We just gave away Christmas gifts to 84 special needs children of the DIF unit of Progreso and their siblings who attended the event and we're in line to give away at least 700 toys to the children of Chelem on December 17. After that, we'll give toys to the approximately 20 children suffering from AIDS or HIV in Merida. And after that, if we have toys left over, and we always do, we'll take a look around and see if there are any other kids that need toys this year, and if they do, we'll make sure Santa delivers.

We couldn't have done this without Playa del Carmen this year. What a special place.

We are having our final Bingo/Raffle Extravaganza on November 29 and we'd like to invite you, we know it's a long drive but we can guarantee you'll have fun and you might even get lucky. Visit Chelem Christmas Dreams Most Wonderful Time Of The Year Bingo/Raffle Extravaganza Facebook Page for more info and to check out the raffle prizes we're giving away this time. Once again, a Playa hotel, 5th Avenue Hotel, claims the top slot.
And since we only have 30 shopping days left until Santa arrives, we could still use some donations. This year we'd like to be able to give all the boys baseball mitts and baseballs and while this is probably out of our league financially, the biggest problem we face is finding or getting 200-250 gloves and balls in the Yucatan. So if you used to be a sporting goods executive, pro-ball player or just know a guy that knows a guy...we'd love to hear from you.
And of course, if you'd like to donate please visit our Chelem Christmas Dreams Donation Page.

Merry Christmas, Playa! You made Santa's "good" list this year!

That is so awesome! My husband and I made it one year to Progreso and Chelem and loved it and I'm so anxious to go back there. It's been a few years so I imagine there's been a bunch of changes. This is such a great are the same everywhere. I'll watch for this next Christmas season.
