denisea,

You know, NOW I remember having read that he went with your suggestion and got the underwater case...Sheesh..

I can see now why my daughter gets frustrated with me when I ask her the same question more than once...

Gotta get back to those herbal supplements...If I could only remember WHICH ones those were...Wrote it down once but can't remember where I put it...

I've narrowed down my list of prospects to the very same three that James posted.

As of today the D70 is leading the pack.

michael, I have the Nikon D100 and really do like it. Gives the option of taking candid shots. All the other point and shoots don't allow for this option.

Cheryl took this shot of her two buddies while visiting Tulum.

While standing in the same spot, she zoomed in on us for this shot.

There is something to be said for the benefits of point and shoot, given the expression on Hannah's face and body language in the last shot.

Both these shots were taken with a 28-200 mm lense.

If that is what you bought in a moment of weakness, then I have to blame this thread for buying the Cannon Digital Rebel yesterday. What a camera!

Thanks, yes it is a very sweet and it can grow further, but it's going to cost a lot to get all the "toys" I want to add.
Now, my problem is getting rid (selling) of all my old equipment to star buying accesories. Life is not easy.

D70

I did rush out and buy a D70 (then I quit my job and drove to Playa).

I’ll post some photographs in the next few days. My favorite is a photograph of Ice. Nope not in the drinks, in the sky. Yes, really. ICE! Photographed around Chetumal on the same day we got to Playa. No warning on weather.com either.

A few tips for those of you that go out and buy a D70.
1. This is a serious camera. If you are a casual photographer, or new to the camera, you can get the settings messed up in a hurry.
However, it is great to regain control of the camera after a few years with a point and shoot.

2. As soon as you get it home check that there is no dust inside. Most of them are already dirty, when new in an unopened box. I’ll be editing a spec of dirt out of all my pics before posting. Yes, James. That was before you opened the camera and started looking inside.

Michael, I hope when you say "I´ll post some photographs" that does not mean you´ll post anything incriminating !!!!!

And BTW, Thanks again for the hospitality!
